Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has disclosed that he spent N10 billion to feed 252,000 school children in Primary 1-4 under the Osun School Feeding Programme known as OMEALS. The governor made this statement at the public presentation of some documents on the social protection policies of his administration which were enacted into law and published with the support of the United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Aregbesola said more than 250 million plates of food were served to 252,000 pupils daily at the cost of N70 per plate and that this cost the state government the sum of N10 billion. The Governor noted that he used the programme to empowerment 3,007 community caterers to prepare the food for the pupils. UNICEF Representative in Nigeria, Mohamed Malick Fall while speaking said the state has a long-standing record of social development having outperformed all other states as per the Multidimensional Poverty Ranking report of the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative 2018 that ranked Osun at first place nationwide. Represented by UNICEF Chief Social Policy, Mr Hamidou Poufon, Fall said, “social protection is increasingly an important component of sustainable development and a veritable tool for advancing the development agenda. Consequently, UNICEF will also support state of Osun in the full implementation of this so I also protection law that is launched today” The event was attended by the former governor of the state, Chief Bisi Akande and the Governor-elect, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the UNICEF Chief of Field Office, Ondo State, Mr Tejinder Sandhu and the UNICEF Communication Officer, Mrs Blessing Ejiofor among others. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/i-fed-252000-school-pupils-with-n10-billion-aregbesola.html |

250,000,000 plates of food for 252,000 pupils = 992 days @ 1 plate per day 260 working days in a year - 60 days total holidays = 200 schooldays So, 992 days divided by 200 days = 4.96 ~ 5 years. APC proposed the feeding programme in 2015 (3.5 years) & we all know they didn't start it until last year (2017). In addition, we all know Aregbesola did not feed pupils everyday and even if he did, 3.5 years = 700 days which means 292 days are missing. 292 days/plates x 252,000 students @ N70 per plate = N5,150,880,000 missing / unaccounted for. NB: If Aregbesola claims to have served 250,000,000 plates @ N70 per plate, it amounts to N17, 500, 000, 000 & not N10,000,000,000. 1 Like 1 Share |

Hmmmm Aregbe, I believed in you in the beginning Doubted you midway in the course of the journey Had my belief and trust restored towards the end. You are an uncommon governor. Something tells me, you are not far away from a higher call in Abuja. |

Approximately N40k per pupil. This feeding is a new found avenue to siphon our fund. One day the whole truth will be revealed. The kind of corruption happening in administration is unprecedented. |

i keep saying this, Heaven will close her door on hypocrites when silence on issues that affect us collectively, i am not from osun but that does not mean i should keep quiet.. Oyinlola was the first to start this Stomach infrastructure in SW it is partially understandable because he was trying to get the children of rural areas to school most of them would rather farm than go to school my state is not left out Kwara state but spending that huge money on something meant to be carrot for rural kids that has no economic benefits to the state is not misappropriation of funds but a sheer wickedness on the part of state govt, it is not the responsibilities of the govt to help the parent feed their children but it is their responsibilities to improve the S.O.L of their parents and all citizens The picture of a boy kneeling to thank PMB for providing a square meal out of 3 graced the internet and people were hailing the president my questions is for what? and on what? if his admin provide one square meal a day what happened to the other two?? did you see the uniform on that kids? On issues of NNPC... most Nigerians do not have an independent mind of their own they have their leaders thinking for them imagining people slating ATIKU on proposed plan to sell NNPC calling him all sorts of unprintable names. well the problem is not illiteracy but ignorance and the govt is making sure we stayed lll informed.. Nigerians or African countries may be Alien to such proposition but it is a trending phenomenon .. Kuwait Mexico and KSA are the latest to join the bangdwon of countries selling partial shares in their oil sectors... the NNPC right from thr 70s is an Haven of corruption selling partial stakes in that parasite of a sector eating deeper in our budget will not only increase efficiency and productivity but will also minimize corruption to its bare minimum . Mining and steel is a mainstay of SA revenue the success can only be attributed to the privatization by the state govt what is happening to our stated own Ajaokuta steel people tends to attack instead of asking questions that is one problem too many we have in this country .. Nitel you all claimed he sold to himself, yes he did and i believe if due process were not followed he should tried is an attestation to Atikus man management of business prowes what happened to those sold to the likes of Jimoh IBRAHIM and co?? lets be constructive in our analysis lets not our judgement be clouded by sentiment A.K.A INDIGENE |
