AFC Bournemouth 1 – 2 Arsenal (nov-25-2018) EPL Highlights by Naijaarchive(m): 8:38pm On Nov 25, 2018
Arsenal beat Bournemouth to maintain
seventeen matches unbeaten
run and one point off a Champions League
place,
decent weekend for Arsenal.
Arsenal moved to within one point of the top
four and
extended their unbeaten run in all competitions
to 17
games with victory at Bournemouth.
The Gunners took the lead thanks to a
spectacular
own-goal from Cherries midfielder Jefferson
Lerma,
who volleyed Sead Kolasinac’s cross past
Asmir
Begovic from 15 yards.
Joshua King, making his comeback after four
games
out with an ankle injury, finished off a swift
counter-
attacking move to bring the hosts level
seconds before
half-time.
But Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored what
proved to
be the winner after the break when he
converted
Kolasinac’s cross for his eighth Premier
League goal
of the season. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is
now the
Premier League’s joint top scorer with eight
goals.
AFC Bournemouth 1 – 2 Arsenal | English
Premier
League – Match summary
1. 30′ 0 – 1 [Own Goal] Jefferson Lerma
volleys
into own net from 15 yards to give Arsenal
lead!
The most bizarre own goal of the season?
Incredible stuff as Jefferson Lerma inadvertently
volleys past his own keeper from 15 yards
while
attempting to clear Sead Kolasinac’s cross.
There was absolutely nothing Asmir Beogivc
could do about that. Super volley though.
Unfortunately it was in the wrong net!
2. 45+1′ 1 – 1 Joshua King equalises with
curling
effort on return to first team! He’s back with a
bang! Delicious finish from Joshua King to
round
off Bournemouth’s best move of the match.
Callum Wilson feeds David Brooks, whose
lovely
weighted pass is dispatched first time by King
from an angle. This time it will count!
Bournemouth are level and it’s game on.
3. 67′ 1 – 2 Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
restores
Gunners’ lead with his eighth goal of season!
Erm, what I was just saying about Pierre-
Emerick
Aubameyang. Scrap that! It’s fair to say the
Arsenal player has had better games but he’s
in
the right place at the right time to turn Sead
Kolasinac’s low cross over the line. Credit to
Alex Iwobi for threading a super pass to
Kolasinac.
