As the 2019 general elections draw nearer, all is not well in the fold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, following a cold war between former Governor of Abia state and Senator representing Abia Central zone, Chief T. A Orji and his erstwhile political protege and Senator representing Abia North zone, Chief Mao Ohuabunwa.

Orji, who is regarded as the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State is unhappy and worried over the poor performance of the PDP federal legislator in the past three years.

Confirming the ugly situation, a close confidant of the former Governor, who craved anonymity, described Senator Mao Ohuabunwa as an unpopular candidate for Abia North in the forthcoming general elections.
The top rated PDP chieftain also disclosed that the PDP has lost hope in Abia North due to its detested candidate.

He said; “it is no longer news that Senator Ohuabunwa does not enjoy the support of his people due to his inability to live up to expectations.

“He has not shown any responsive representation since he assumed office.

“Senator Ohuabunwa cannot defeat his rival candidates from other political parties in the 2019 general elections.

“The electorate are now wise and you cannot continue to deceive them”.
