A Nigeria father says he will not allow his own son to read some part of the Holy Bible until he is above 20. According to him, he feels there are some part of the holy book he can’t explain to him.

Chike Delic Obi wrote:

There are parts of the Bible I can’t let my son read or hear about until he’s in the teens.

How do I explain to him that a ‘holy’ prophet sent bears to devour 42 children for mocking his baldness? 2 Kings 2: 23-25

This same bald head I have.

How do I explain to a child that a man was killed by God for pulling out and not getting his dead brother’s wife pregnant? Gen 38:9

How do I explain that God hated Esau before he was born without going into the murky waters of predestination vs free will? Rom 9: 11-13

How do I explain SLAVERY?

That it wasn’t expressly commanded against but was actually regulated including how to beat them and get away with their murder if they die after a few days. Ex 21: 20-21

How do I explain that verses in the Bible were used as an excuse to enslave his ancestors and convince them it was God’s will for them to obey their masters as unto the lord? Eph 6:5

How do I explain that women and children were killed for the sins of their husband/ fathers? Num 16: 27-33 (and more)

How do I explain that a man offered his virgin daughter to men that want to rape his male guests (and they actually rape her to death)? Gen 19: 8

AND SO MUCH MORE.

Someone gave us a Children’s picture Bible with story of the bald prophet and other disturbing content. I have long removed it from my house so he doesn’t see it. Just like I won’t expose him to violent and sexually explicit movies and books.

Good parenting...the bible is a very complex book itself, even "preachers " have to pray for understanding before reading for better assimilation.... the kid should know only what he should

.... His right.... His choice.

As a mother, I'm going to teach my child that the Bible is the story of other people's relationship with God. That she has a chance to write down her story of relationship with God. She must not do follow follow because when she does she will be disappointed.

When Angel doesn't appear to her or when she can't do miracles, she start thinking she's not special or that God doesn't love her.

God loves her and she's special but for her to discover how much, she will not read the Bible till she she's fully confident in her personal relationship with God.

My friend was the first to tell me the story of the bald prophet and the children, we saw a deeper life poster with the picture of pastor kumuyi. I began to laugh at how poor the picture which was infact true, his posture was awkward. She told me sternly to stop, narrating the story to me. The first thing that came to my mind was, " thank God I'm not near a bush"

Thank goodness I wasn't born during Muhammad's time, I could have been beheaded for rejecting Islam.

So for these so called reasons, you won't let your son read all the wonderful miracles in the Bible, the conquest of Israel, the book of Pslams, The prophesies of the end times, the story of Jesus and his apostles, the conquest of Apostle Paul in all Asia (who wrote 15 books to the churches)

This grieviance is obviously born out of hatred on God's stand on righteousness/purity, Heaven and Hell.

Call spade a spade.

Can you also condemn Samson who was anointed by God, for prostituting and still having God's power. Yet God is against prostition.

People have a lot of confusions about the Bible because they are biased or only hear what the preacher says and never/contextually/scaracely read the Bible. They don't know God.
