At 4am, your iPhone X made a hitting sound (alarm) for you to get ready for your daily activities. You were still in bed, had a short prayer, got your phone to view latest updates on your social media networks; your colleagues messaged you on whatapp, you find some interesting jokes and updates on Facebook, you follow and retweet a trending #hashtag on Twitter and lastly view some celebrities pictures on Instagram.

Another alert sound from your phone indicates that you should leave your media accounts and get ready for work, you stood up, had your bath, prepared breakfast with your electric cooker and you speedily rush your meal.

At 6am, You are in your benz, putting your laptop, power bank and other gadgets right at the back sit.

On stepping into your office you felt a fresh air coming from the air conditioner, you sat down and started operating your laptop and your mobile phone, when it launch time you started watching some YouTube videos.

What a perfect lifestyle you are living.

Jonathan Ive design the iPhone X and the apple laptop you are using is one of the product of Apple inc founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne.

Mark Zuckerberg create Facebook that helps you to view latest updates, he also bought whatapp from Jan Koum (Russia programmer) which enables you to receive messages from your colleagues.

Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams created twitter that enables your to follow latest and trending #hashtag, the alarm sound that woke you up is a program on your phone. Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger founded Instagram that makes you excited when viewing pictures and short videos.

YouTube was founded by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. Mercedes Benz was design by Gorden Wagener for easy transport.

You had a quick meal with the help of electric cooker designed by Lloyd Groff Copeman and had a fresh air coming from the AC designed by Willis Carrier

Do you notice something? Out of all Programmers, web developers and engineers I mentioned above none of them is an African.

Are Africans not on the same planet with them when they were designing and building these things that enhance your day to day activities?

Where are Africans when these thinkers are bringing up ideas to build these “thinkees“?

How has Africans participated in the world’s technology and globalization we are enjoying today?

Are our lecturers not capable of training Engineering students how to build mechanism, gadgets and many more and not to repair only?

Programmers and developers are good but why can’t they bring up blur ideas and make it clear to the world?

It’s never too late to have a rethink, even though it seems most of the world’s difficult problems are solved without any credits for Africans; its never too let to startup something to solve some other problems left in the world; it’s never too late to change the reputation we have laid down many years ago.

Embrace technology and add more value to globalization.
