In 2016, The Dean, Student Affairs, University of Abuja, Dr Peter Adakayi, warned candidates against wrong combination of subjects during JAMB examinations, as such could mar their chances of getting admission.

Adakayi said that a candidate who had high scores in JAMB result, but had the wrong combination of subjects, would not get the desired course of study.

“For instance, a candidate may like to study medicine, but for the JAMB examination, he or she registers English Language which is compulsory, then Chemistry, Literature and Geography.

Our paryer every year is that we get admission into tertiary institutions but sometimes, we make our prayers not to be answered by doing some things that are against us – one of such things is choosing the wrong subject combination for our desired course of study in the University.
