Stop mistaking Izon for Ijaw. The tiny group you're calling are Izon they're what they call the purest of Ijaw because they are not mixed with any other Ethnicity. the rest Epie-Attisa, Ogbia Engenne, Okrika are Ijaw that are mixed with other Ethnic groups like Cross River Languages Edo and Igbo people, but still retain the name Ijaw. But most Bayelsans just call them (Izon) Ijo a corruption of the word Izon. The Ijaw people are so spread far that they always in contact with another Ethnic group. For the Kalabari, Okrika, Ibani, Nkoro and Ndoni its the Igbo and Efik-Ibibio for the Tarakiri, Apoi, Gbaramatou, and Aragbo etc its the Urhono Edo and Yoruba etc.
