Vice president Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday commissioned free Wifi in Wuse market.

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday, inaugurated the Google Station Initiative at Wuse Market, Abuja, aimed at providing free public Wi-Fi service.

Google Nigeria’s Head of Partnerships for Next Billion Users, Saidu Abdullahi, said that the launch of the Google station, was in partnership with Backbone Connectivity Network, an integrated communications and data management company.

Saidu Abdullahi pointed out, that Google Station was part of Google’s vision to provide fast and affordable Wi-Fi to its next billion users.

The Google Station was launched at 11 high traffic venues in Lagos in July, making Abuja the second city where it was rolled out. According to reports, the commissioning is fallout of his visit to Silicon Valley, US, where he got Google to promise free wifi for Nigerian markets and other public places including airports.
