As a corper, one thing that should be at the back of your mind is getting a good job after the service year.
It is advisable to start now to take relevant courses and skill up trainings to prepare yourself for the job hunt.

Many people leave school and throw themselves into the labour market without any form of preparation and wonder why they are never called for an interview, talk more of a job.

Here are some of the common mistakes fresh graduates make while job hunting:

1. Some people can't write a CV. They include unnecessary information and leave out the relevant information that will pass the ATS software.

2. Many applicants can't write a cover letter. They go online and copy templates that have nothing to do with the jobs they're applying for.

3. Applicants use the same CV to apply for a million different jobs.

4. The Emails! A lot of candidates send CVs without including the subject of the mail or including the body.

5. Some applicants send emails with no salutations or wrong salutations.

6. Some applicants send emails without attaching their CVs. So what will the recruiter read?

7. Some applicants send CVs in the wrong format - Screenshots, encrypted CVs, Notepad format, webpages and copying CV in the body of emails.

8. Some applicants' email addresses are not functional but they still include it in their CV.

These are just some of the issues that make many graduates seem unemployable.

One may wonder why CVs are such a big deal. Well, as recruiters, we see a ton of CVs that are poorly written with each job application. A lot of people still don't know how to sell themselves.

Now, having a rich CV is one thing but being confident during the interview phase, is another thing.

I have put together an online course on Employability for Graduate youths that are actively job hunting. This is targeted to equip entry level applicants with important information on job readiness and successful job hunting.

This course is on a Facebook Group and upon payment of N4000, you will be given access to join and learn everything from CV Writing, Interviews, Workplace Skills and Etiquette, Volunteering etc from over 5 video sessions.

Interested people should click this link to sign up.
An email will be sent to you with payment and login details.

Let me help you prepare for your dream career.
