The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwunsi has launched the print medium of the community based media that carries news, feature stories and others within Ile Ife.

The community based media, Ife City News was launched as a newspaper by the Ooni at the palace hall on Thursday.

Ife City News has been on online medium over a year ago and its newspaper version came to existence on Thursday when the Ooni launched it.

While launching, the Founder of Ife City News who doubles as the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lagos State, Kehinde Bamigbetan, told Ooni that he founded the community newspaper online and print version to enhance the cultural institutions and expose the tourism potential of the ancient town to the whole world .

In his remark, the Ooni lauded Mr. Bamigbetan for his efforts at bringing Ile-Ife to the fore in the global media space.

The foremost monarch however prayed for the development and growth of the media.
