@NaijaPolitico

Earlier today, The Nigerian Army has said it is suspending the operations of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund in the North-East theatre until further notice.

It alleges that UNICEF had shifted from “its duty of catering to the wellbeing of children and the vulnerable through humanitarian activities and now engages in training selected persons for clandestine activities.”

Sequel to intervention by well meaning and concerned Nigerians over the recent suspension of UNICEF operations in the North East theatre of operations,Naija Politico got to know that the Theatre Command Operation LAFIYA DOLE convened and held an emergency meeting with representatives of UNICEF this evening.

During the meeting, the Theatre Command admonished the representatives of the organization to desist from activities inimical to Nigeria's national security and capable of undermining ongoing fight against terrorism and insurgency. The Command also urged UNICEF representatives to ensure they share information with relevant authorities whenever induction or training of new staff is being conducted in the theatre.

Consequently, after extensive deliberations on the need to seek modalities to work harmoniously with the security agencies in the theatre of operation, the Theatre Command has henceforth lifted the three months suspension earlier imposed on UNICEF activities in North Eastern Nigeria.

This tactics has been working for Trump, but same tactics can not work in Nigeria because we don't have leverage over such international organisations.
If you have leverage over them, when you hit then like this, they will come to you for a solution and you get what you want.

The suspension was an illfated move. We need UNICEF more than they need us

For God's sake why is every facet of our national life under this regime so clueless? So the Nigerian Army was not expecting a backlash from its ill conceived decision of even suspending the UNICEF based on silly reasons?

The moles within and the so called de-radicalized former BH fighter are even the most dangerous enemies & not a humanitarian organization assisting to mitigate the post-traumatic effects of an unending self-inflicted BH war on the most vulnerable group of victims-women & children.

UNICEF of all people, they are suspending.
I just wonder where they placed their thinking faculty before the suspension statement was released.

If not for UNICEF, the flagrant abuse that will be going on in idps camp will be monumental or is it because of the constant backlash from UNICEF.

I do agree that sometimes, they might stop the military from degrading the human nature of boko haram terrorists but that doesnt translate to being banned in the North-East

International relief organizations should pull out from the North entirely. Let the animals stew in their own juice. The savage implosion in the North is a very deliberate action to maintain control and discipline courtesy of a very feudalistic and predatory culture and ethos.

The earlier decision to suspend UNICEF and frustrate other monitoring organizations like Amnesty is because the Nigerian regulators abhor responsibility. The Nigerian society covets power but shies away from responsibility.

Muslims see these international organizations as 'Christian appendages', as well demonstrated by Boko haram. So they must all pull out for the 'muslim ones' like Red Crescent to come.

Despite having the most years at power and its corridors, the North is still the most diseased, most poverty ridden, most uneducated, most violence prone. This is not accidental but by design.

Northern Nigeria is a blight on the modern world, and must be wiped out...oh wait, we might as well throw guns in there for the animals to do it to themselves.

They had better....

This is a United Nations agency we are talking about. All it would take is a few calls.

Nigeria doesn't yet have the clout to take on the UN.

That's reserved for the real big boys not the developing countries heavily reliant on aid.

That's what happens when you act before reasoning which has regrettably become the hallmark of this govt.

If only they had restrained their dullness to the country than going international!

Exactly.
The same way d wicked northern elites including Buhari have brainwashed the masses they deliberately kept in illiteracy that stuff like polio vaccination is a bid by Christians to reduce their population.
Meanwhile their own children are delivered abroad or in the best hospitals in Nigeria and get their immunisation in full.
