*PETER OBI .# 2019 DEBATE*

By C. C Anaedu

ISSUES

Below are some of Peter Obi answers, statements ,and some of my remarks and pragmatic questions that should have been addressed.

1.Fighting corruption is not an economic policy, it is not that you can't fight corruption, but you can fight it more aggressively while addressing economic issues. - Peter Obi. #2019Debate

*This is Fantastic idea from Peter Obi.*

2.The number one problem of this country today is its economy. The vice president is in charge of rebuilding the economy to where it can create jobs. – Peter Obi. #2019Debate.

*This is not really true. Elitism and Cabalism is the problem of Nigeria. There are powerful individuals, powerful political lions who claim to own Nigeria. Starting from Strong Religious leaders, Sultan, Emirs, Retired Generals, Northern Oligarchy, Powerful Fulani and Yoruba forces. These individuals are super rich via milking of National resources .These formed the hidden structure that is dictating everything in Nigeria. They are the ones kicking against restructuring and resources control, they call the shots in critical, major, and economic decisions in Nigeria. Bad Governance and Bad Economy are as a result of these bad structure and these powerful individuals. They siphon National resources to their own, It is because of these we have 20 million Almajiris in Northern Nigeria, it is because of these that no government institutions is working efficiently, it is because of these we do not have good roads, uninterrupted electricity, efficient government institutions, it is because of these that they shared the oil blocks, the common wealth of Nigeria to themselves, they owned NNPC, NPA, MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE, AVIATION, VARIOUS OIL SPINNING SECTORS AND PARASTATALS, NIGERIAN MILITARY ETC.*

3.Nigeria has been a country where we have the highest number of poor people. Our country today has the highest number of out-of-school children in the world. – Peter Obi. #2019Debate.

*This also is a good Quote from Obi, but did He tell us HOW government will reduce number of people living in extreme poverty? Did he tell Nigerian what and what they will do to reduce poverty? Did he tell Nigerians what his government will do to reduce or stop out of School children?*

4.In terrorism we have moved from seven to No 3; Our inequality (rate) has worsened. Our unemployment rate has moved from 24 to 40 today. We are not supporting SMEs very well. – Peter Obi.#2019Debate.

*This is good observation from Obi. But did he tell us how they will tackle terrorism and reduce or stop it? Did he tell us how his own Government will support SME (Small and Medium Scale Enterprises) Did he tell Nigerians what and what their Government will do to reduce unemployment rate and inequality ?*

5.As long as we don’t create jobs and have the number of unemployed youths in their productive age that we have today, we are going to have crisis. – Peter Obi, #2019Debate.

*He is very correct. But He did not tell us HOW his Government is going to do that.? We have been hearing of job creation from every Government since when we were born. But then unemployment keep on increasing exponentially year by year. He should have tell us WHAT POLICY, STEPS AND ACTION PLANS they will take to create more jobs.*

6.You need to support your SMEs properly; not just saying I will support them but do it more efficiently. - Peter Obi. #2019Debate

*Yes, SME is the driving force of every developed economy in the world. Mr Obi should have highlighted us HOW THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT IS GOING TO SUPPORT SME EFFICIENTLY. THEIR POLICIES, STEPS, ACTION PLAN ETC. HOW IS WHAT NIGERIANS WANT TO HEAR NOT WE WILL DO. Why is Bank of Industry not efficient and effective ? Why is Bank of Agriculture not efficient and effective?*

7.In 2015 we generated $41bn in Foreign Direct Investment, but now, we attracted only $12bn last year. Even our stock market has lost over N2Trillion in one year. You can’t shut down your shop and be chasing criminals. ~Peter Obi
#2019debate

*He is very right, our FDI (foreign direct Investment) dropped. But He should have informed us why it dropped? Why Foreign Companies left Nigeria, He did not tell us WHAT TO DO to attract more Foreign Investors. He did not tell us HOW to attract more foreign companies in Nigeria. (* *Why did PDP fail to provide constant electricity in their 16 years rule, why did PDP Government fail to fix Nigerian roads in their 16 years regime, why is it that so many states do not have railway line in their 16 years regime? Why is rail transport still backward even after 100 years the British built the first rail tracks? Why are Eastern seaports not working under 16 years of PDP rule? , Industrialists, traders have to use trucks to ferry their goods from TINCAN APAPA 600KM to 900KM to Onitsha, Nnewi, Aba, Kano, Kaduna. Something Railway could do)* .

8.Currently, we have a government that is doing what it is not suppose to do. The job of Government is supervision and to create an enabling environment for investments to thrive.~Peter Obi
#2019debate

*We know very well. Did he tell us WHAT AND WHAT POLICIES, DECISIONS, LAWS their Government will do to create enabling environment for investment to thrive? This every Nigerian would like to hear.*

9.What we are subsidizing today is inefficiency. There is no way a country can have N400bn for health which translates to N5 per citizen, yet paying trillions for subsidy.~Peter Obi. #2019debates

*We know that subsidy is bad, but WHAT CREATED the inefficiency in the system? Obviously it is that same Powerful individuals, cabals, powerful political lions who owns those rackets. They have to create the inefficiency so that they will eat, loot and steal Government funds. Some of those powerful individuals, political lions who created this inefficiencies did that, so they will continue their looting and racketeering in Government institutions are PDP MEMBERS AND APC MEMBERS LIKE ATIKU, OBJ, TY DANJUMA, TINUBU, IBB, ABDUSALAM, SULTAN, EMIRS ,TRADITIONAL AND RELIGIOUS LEADERS ETC. So HOW do you stop them? HOW will your Government cushion the economic crackdown if you attack these folks?*

_CONCLUSION : YES MR PETER OBI DID WELL BY OUTLINNING THE PROBLEMS, AND SHORT COMINGS OF THE GOVERNMENT, BUT SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE BY HIGHLIGHTING HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEMS WITH CLEAR CUT SOLUTIONS, ACTION PLANS, STEP BY STEP POLICIES, DECISIONS OR EVEN LAWS THEY WILL PUT IN PLACE._

lol@12 million farmers.

NBS never said that. Infact they said the opposite, and also there are no 12 million new farmers anywhere.

You are a double liar.

Op, you don't expect obi or any other candidates to give you details on how they'll tackle these issues. That will be like revealing to the opposition their strategies. That's just politics bro.
