The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun yesterday disclosed that the awaited constituency projects for members would soon start in their various constituencies.

Oleyelogun who disclosed this shortly after the plenary sitting explained that the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has approved the constituency projects for the lawmakers.

He assured the people of their various constituencies that they would soon begin to enjoy the projects which would soon be executed.

He appreciated God for the peace that has finally returned to the hallowed chambers, and promised to continue to give special attention to the welfare of members.

During the plenary, some lawmakers who had shunned sitting since the November 9 leadership crisis that erupted in the House of Assembly attended sitting.

The lawmakers include the deputy Majority Leader, Olusegun Ajimotokin, former Majority Leader, Dayo Akinsoyinu, former Deputy Speaker, Samuel Arowele and the Minority Leader, Sola Ebiwonjumi.

Their resumption came barely after 16 out of the 26 lawmakers were presented their official vehicles on Monday by the state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Reacting to the development, Oleyelogun expressed satisfaction and assured that the Assembly would continue to work for the socioeconomic development as well as the peace of the state, adding that as representatives of the people they would continue to work and protect the interest of their various constituencies.

“I’m particularly happy more than before that normalcy has finally returned to the Assembly. Peace has come back to the House. We are happy with the sitting arrangement today and we thank God”, the Speaker added.

Oleyelogun assured that the lawmakers would not relent in their efforts at making good laws that would improve the lives of the citizenry and ensure all-round development of the state.
