RICO Government: How NSA, Attorney General and Jonathan's Chief Of Staff Rake In Billions From Economic Criminals

SaharaReporters, New York
The brazen return to Nigeria by its most wanted economic criminal, Erastus Akingbola, former MD/CEO Intercontinental Bank has exposed the ring of racketeers in Goodluck Jonathan’s government. It is now being described as a RICO government, meaning a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations government.

According to immigration officials, Mr. Akingbola was escorted out of a British Airways flight by an elite team of state security officials from the office of the NSA and lidded at the Protea Hotel in Abuja. Arrangements were then made for the Redeemed Church financier to be ferried to a secret location.

Mr. Akingbola would be the fourth person to be controversially sneaked into Nigeria by a troika of the National Security Adviser, Aliyu Gusau, and the Attorney General of the Federation, Bello Adokie, as well as Jonathan's Chief of staff, Chief Mike Oghiadhome, who was Deputy Governor of Edo state under the infamous Lucky Igbinedion.

In a series of rackets, these public officials, with the full knowledge of Mr. Jonathan, have also flown in Dele Oye, a lawyer who fled Nigeria in the wake of the banking scandal that rocked Nigeria last year. Mr. Oye ran off after he was identified as a key character in the looting of Oceanic Bank, a bank ransacked by Cecilia Ibru. But after “settling” the NSA and the AGF, Mr. Oye returned to Nigeria. He did visit the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission later, but he was neither detained nor charged for his crimes.

Thereafter, the powerful group brought in the Vaswani Brothers, two Indian brothers known to have scammed Nigeria of several billions of Naira in import duties, but the racketeers not only let them in, but also arranged a court ruling that declared their deportation—the second in a row—illegal. In fact, the Federal High Court also considered awarding penalties against the Nigerian government for the "illegal” seizure of their assets. The AGF, NSA and Oghiadome reportedly received several billions of naira in bribes from the notorious Indian brothers.

A source at the Nigerian presidency told Saharareporters that the scam started with Adetokumbo Ademola, who acted as AGF for a few months before Bello Adoke was appointed. The largess from the Vaswani brothers nearly caused a major fracas between the AGF and the Chief of Staff, who thought the AGF had shortchanged the Jonathan camp. Saharareporters has authoritatively learned that the Chief of Staff collects bribes from all corners in the name of Jonathan's campaign for the presidency.

The NSA, Gusau, runs a different racket that has compartmentalized the Jonathan's regime. Gusau, who leads an antiquated security team, believes he helped Jonathan gain stability in power, and is cashing in his chips.

Mr. Oghiadome seems to be the new Andy Uba to Jonathan: helping to arrange bribes and all sorts of women to the president. Oghiadome's son, Chris, also runs a parallel scam, working in concert with Femi Otedola, the embattled African Petroleum chairman.

Last week, Mr. Jonathan made a public address in Ilorin in which he criticized the high level of corruption and illegal acquisition of wealth in the country. He warned that if Nigeria did not take the right steps, “very soon the system will collapse.”

And you people still think Babangida is the only enemy of this country?
Just relax while the music plays on; it is obvious that we are not ready to move forward in this country. Once again, all politicians are criminals, no need to pick and chose. Just batch them all together and stone them till their eyes close forever.

I refuse to cast my vote or support any politician in this country until Jesus himself returns to contest.

And what exactly is going to happen to this man? Beaf or whatever you call yourself, please get with it and stop fooling yourself.
Open your rusty ears: Akingbola wouldn't have returned to Nigeria if he hasn't been given an assurance that all will be fine sooner or later. In fact, I will not be surprised if Akingbola will be funding THE OBVIOUS for the 2011 election.

We shall see how long it'll take to release him on bail and then it'll all be business as usual all over again.

Write what you want. Soon , with Jonathan's natural ability to mess up when he has a chance to excel , you will be his only fan on this forum . So many obvious signs of incompetence and unacceptable corruption yet you keep defending Jonathan !!!!

It is becoming obvious by the minute (not by the day  grin grin) that Jonathan , as many of us have always stated , is indeed running a RICO government (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations government). Jonathan will be discredited daily henceforth because , as per his compromised and corrupt past, there is far too many incriminating evidence against those who have sold their souls to the Devil.

I will just enjoy the 'show' as your naive and politically inept  hero is dismantled daily . He should , as someone who never aspired to get so far , understand his role as a man could actually be the saviour of Nigeria if he refrains from contesting while conducting free and fair elections that will bring in great Governors and a Great President.

Yet Jonathan is about to accept a 'poisoned chalice' that might bring an end to his goodluck simply because of the intoxication with power that , as with Yar Adua , is making Mr.President unable to recognise and accept his many limitations .

Our friend Aliyu Gusau again. . . .the moronic NSA who felt that it was his security brief to speak against banking reforms in his first ever speech to the new cabinet. . .

Some of us , for obvious , reasons criticised his appointment back then as a disaster , same as the failure to sack Dambazau, yet some Nairalanders posited that the appointment of Gusau was a "masterstroke" . grin grin grin Everythiing Jonathan has done , since becoming acting President , reeks of the type of desperation that will only attract the Vultures of Nigerian politics. I dont envy Mr. President at this moment even taking into acount his mythical 'goodluck'.

My friends, it is what it is. You can not ask or force a chicken to give birth to a lion, it is absolutely impossible. Uncle Goodluck just like other local champions is not a useless man; apart from being incompetent he also has no balls to lead this nation. He will not produce today or tomorrow, it is that simple.
Saving Nigeria is a very deep statement.
This isn't exaggeration, but uncle Goodluck hasn't made a single decision of his own ever since he became our mighty leader. He doesn't have the capability to lead this country, this is one of the reasons why it is taking this dude 20 years to make it known publicly whether he's contesting or not.

Leadership is not for everybody, no disrespect.

The whole article is rumour mongering. When one part has been proven to be false, it is easy to conclude that the rest is absolutely false as well.
I am not defending anybody, but the article is absolute rubbish. Resounding codswallop.

but the vaswani brothers had a curious Presidential pardon and are back in the country.

meanwhile akingbola was not arrested in london. the man bought his own flight ticket, returned to the country and on his own showed up at the abuja efcc office. something must be giving him confidence, the whole efcc noise of an arrest is a charade.

Indeed. The signs are crystal clear that Jonathan , just like Yar Adua , will entrust Nigeria's future to the most ruinous hands possible if he becomes President . Why are the criminals , who all kept quiet when Jonathan was being persecuted , campaigning for him while those who valiantly fought for him to become acting President now shun his 2011 ambition totally?

Balarabe Musa was one of the first Northerners who came out to ask for Jonathan to be made acting President. While all Jonathans current 'buddies' were petrified by the "cabal" , to the extent of total silence !!! Now the same Balarabe Musa is asking Jonathan to desist from running !!!! Wole Soyinka , even when he fought for Jonathan, is forming his own Party , rather than endorsing Jonathan in the clearest sign that Jonathan does not have the backing of Nigeria's most consistently valiant voices!! .

If you do not have men and women who have bravely and consistently fought for Nigeria's best interest on your side , then that speaks volumes about your candidacy. The worst will then be assumed about your candidacy if you surround yourself with the "cash and carry" sycophants and mercenaries who worked against you yesterday and have always consistently worked against the progress of Nigeria from one Government to another.

GEJ and his team are infected with the highly potent strain of the Nigerian virus called Quid Pro Quo ("Something for something"wink

Beyond emotions, what does Jonathan stand for?

Wednesday, 04 August 2010 22:24 Is'haq Modibbo Kawu kawumodibbo@dailytrust.com 08059100368 (SMS only)

Last year, we were invited to attend a Nigerian Achievements Awards, in Johannesburg, South Africa. Then Vice President, Jonathan Goodluck was special guest at the event. Frankly, his speech was boring and uninspiring.

In the piece that I wrote on my return home, I lamented Goodluck’s dour and colourless disposition. The South African co-chair was a lady whose erudition was impressive and arresting, while our man, Jonathan Goodluck, like chloroform, literally sent us to sleep. I had stated that the vice president was an expression of everything wrong with Nigeria’s leadership recruitment! But by incredible good luck (no pun intended!), the dour, colourless and clueless man, is today sitting atop our country as president.

Combining personal and political shortcomings, Goodluck Jonathan, has become a divisive factor of Nigerian political life. This divisiveness is rooted in Jonathan’s ambition to become our next president, by stealth, mischief or caprice. The emotion for and against Goodluck Jonathan’s candidacy is casting a dangerous pall on Nigerian politics. But giving ourselves the pause for a moment, what does Jonathan really stand for? What are his core values and conceptual frames of apprehension of the problems facing Nigeria today? Can this clueless gentleman provide the leadership which Nigeria deserves in the present circumstance? And if the records of power are what will be canvassed with the Nigerian electorate, what will speak for Jonathan the candidate?

This week, the media reported Oronto Douglas, Jonathan’s Senior Special Assistant on Strategy, Research and Documentation, as saying that Jonathan would not preside over a divided nation. It is the most bizarre statement yet out of the Jonathan camp, given that the central strategy of the Goodluck presidential project is precisely to divide the country, especially Northern Nigeria, in the mistaken belief that it would serve to win him candidacy and then presidency. But what we still haven’t seen is an outline of thoughts and ideas for national development from Jonathan; unfortunately, that is not the area of the president’s competence! His record in power since the late President Umaru Yar’adua’s illness and death cannot be taken to the electorate. Goodluck is less that average in provision of leadership for power supply issues; under him we have a bankrupt NNPC in our hands; as a matter of fact, his oil policy is reduced to cutting deals with oil companies and there are reports of NNPC top officials being called to meetings to be told that Niger Delta thugs like Tom Polo are interested in lifting crude!

Jonathan has no record on which to lean in his desire to become our president in 2011. His entire public service record reveals an incurable mediocrity: a nondescript deputy director at NDDC; a cowardly deputy governor in Bayelsa; a governor whose wife ended up stealing millions of dollars (according to Nuhu Ribadu’s EFCC); a scheming vice president and now a divisive and below-average president! Any student of Political Science 101 should conveniently predict that no candidate can go to the electorate with a record like Jonathan’s. That is why there are reports of secret meetings being held with foreign election bodies as part of a multi-track agenda. Nigeria is in a flux, almost like we were in 1998, and is therefore available for the taking by the most audacious political forces. Unfortunately, the opposition is incompetent and pathologically unable to rise to the heights of power. The danger we face as a country is that a clueless Jonathan Goodluck might then, by stealth, inherit power. It will be unending nightmare for the Nigeria people: 8 years of kleptocracy under Obasanjo; three years of sleepwalking under Yar’adua and years of driving in reverse gear, drunk and clueless, under Jonathan Goodluck. Nigeria’s fate is sealed!

It is only August 2010 and it seems that Babangida has already started to win this election. The latest development out there is, if Jonathan wins the next presidential election, it means Obasanjo has finally won his 3rd term (because so far most of Jonathan's decision came directly from Obasanjo).
Jonathan hasn't really displayed himself as a leader that can withstand the invisible pressure that comes with the position of a president. It is almost as if Jonathan is too scared or has no true desire to lead this nation.
If you guys don't want Babangida to win this election, you people better start searching for a reliable and credible substitution, it will be simply too silly to count on Jonathan.
