It shows man has completely destroyed the habitat of these animals. Besides these animals are beneficial to the environment all they need is relocation to a new habitat or a conservancy were they can leave happily. Why must we kill and eat everything when goats sheep cattle are there for our consumption. God create them to help reduce over population of harmful vermin like rats.

I do not believe this story. There's hardly any green area in Mushin. Let alone a bush or forest for a snake this size to live in peace for years without being spotted.

But, but there's no major bush or forest in OR around Mushin. I fear that one day, I will post a snake thread on Nairaland cause there's a huge forest valley behind my street that stretches down to Sheraton

I work at valley view plaza....so i know and can testify to what you are saying,that bush for that valley go contain lot of snakes and monkeys sha.... I've seen monkeys playing around in the canal several times and there was a time a snake was killed at that T.junction close to that Chinese restaurant

A huge python was killed few days ago in a bakery in Mushin area in Lagos. According to reports, the big-sized reptile was believed to have lived there for a long period of time without being noticed.

After the python was spotted by one of the neighbors, an alarm was raised - prompting the bakery workers and residents to kill it.

Some of the residents who were excited about the kill, posed with the dead snake.

Further details were not given as to what later became of the dead python.

Tor! People forget that pythons are water experts too. They just need holes and spaces big enough to curl and chill. They can at night come out and catch small domestic animals and rodents that abound in Lagos. They can conceal themselves well and go about at night mostly to avoid people.

When caught during day time, it's usual by a rare chance. There can easily be 50 of such in that wider area and nobody will know.

The Afonjas and snake meat are like 5&6. Just look at the way that afonja nucca carried the python on his neck like a world title medal
