Being a Nigerian, a Southerner and studying in Northern Part of the country, especially a place like Zaria, I have come to realize that the problem of Nigeria cannot be mentioned outside corruption. The term can be as ambiguous as it may seem but all we see happening in this country, is a linkup to corruption.
We have been so corrupt that we don't realize the harm we do to ourselves and to our beloved nation. The youth especially have been so corrupted that they are contented with been jobless and hungry while still clapping their hands in exaltation of the corrupt politicians that have milked their future. Where we criticise and support political leaders based on religious and ethnic proposition while sacrificing our future and beloved inheritance(Nigeria) on the altar of greed and corruption.
We can never move this country forward if we continue to look at things based on religion and ethnicity, no, Until we begin to look at things as Nigerians and remove corruption. Corruption runs in our blood and we need to filter that blood and teach ourselves to stay corrupt-free.
It is corruption that make our students graduate from the universities without knowledge.
It is corruption that make our electricity distribution companies to supply darkness instead of light.
It is corruption that make our waterboards to function just as names but people actually depend on well and stream waters.
It is corruption that make our government offer us death traps as roads.
It is corruption that make us practice democracy in writing but not in action.
It is corruption that make us feel political positions are a family business.
It is corruption that make our youths fight each other for the sake of a politician.
It is corruption that make a qualified voter not to vote in an election.
It is corruption that make our youths and parents sell their votes during elections.
It is corruption that make the lecturer demand for sex to give marks.
It is corruption that make a qualified tested candidate to stay at home without admission.
It is corruption that make unqualified teachers to man our classroom.
It is corruption that make a graduate of journalism to lecture a student of engineering.
It is corruption that make us want to get money when we don't work for the money.
It is corruption that make our president travel out if the country for treatments when we have hundreds and thousands of hospitals in Nigeria.
It is corruption that make Nigeria continue to import toothpicks.
It is corruption that makes a corrupt person in charge of fighting corruption.
It is corruption that make us to blame our leaders of not doing things we could do ourselves.
It is corruption that make some students see exams questions even before the exams day.
It is corruption that makes a lecturer fail a student for saying his/her honest opinion.
It is corruption that make a lecturer suffer his students just for nothing.
It is corruption that make our healthcare system very poor.
It is corruption that make our economy fail.
It is corruption that make our transport system nothing but a name.
It is corruption that makes our mining industry just a name.
It is corruption that make the north gain more from petroleum allocation when they contribute nothing at the detriment of the south.
It is corruption that brings sentiment.
It is corruption that brings hate.
Corruption in the church
Corruption in the mosque
And the list continue.
If we don't teach ourselves the truth of the happenings in our country today, then corruption will kill and bury our beloved country.

This was the reason many Nigerians voted for PMB in 2015. The idea was that PMB will reduce corruption, but citizens were disappointed at the level of bias the man has portrayed. I just hope Nigerians will learn sense as 2019 approaches...
