A court in Munich, Germany has issued a stop to the sales of some Apple iPhone products in the country. The order came after tech giant Apple was guilty of infringing on one Qualcomm patent. The German court placed a ban on the sales of iPhone 7 and 8 models with Intel modems.

The report says the ban will continue, until Apple is able to appeal for the reversal of the decision. According to the decision, third-party retailers can still sell the affected iPhones. A statement from Apple says the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR don’t infringe on Qualcomm’s patent and will remain on shelves.

Delivering the judgement, judge, Matthias Zigann said, the iPhones containing those third-party parts violate Qualcomm’s patents around envelope tracking, a feature that helps phones preserve battery while sending and receiving wireless transmissions. Qualcomm will have to pay a $765 million bond in order for the ruling to go into effect.

This makes the second time Qualcomm is dealing a major blow to the growth of Apple overseas. Just few weeks back, Qualcomm also won a case against Apple in China stopping the company from selling the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X in the country. The chip maker is aiming to stop Apple from selling the iPhone XS and XR in China as well.
