It has been revealed that the former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh met with Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, over his trial for corruption three weeks before he was shot dead by unknown gunmen along Abuja-Keffi Road on Tuesday.

Reportd learnt that Badeh, who was facing trial for alleged fraud, criminal breach of trust and money laundering, allegedly met with Aisha Buhari to seek her intervention in his legal troubles which were reportedly taking an emotional and financial toll on him.

A close associate of the deceased claimed that he confided in him that Mrs Buhari told Badeh that only Kyari could help him.

“Badeh stated that Aisha Buhari then took him to Kyari, but the COS was non-committal. He asked the ex-CDS to call him back, but he (Kyari) was unreachable since the meeting which took place about three weeks ago,” the source, a former paramilitary officer, said.

Meanwhile, there are strong indications that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will not spare Badeh’s properties despite his passing.

An EFCC official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that the anti-graft agency was determined to pursue the ongoing trial to a conclusive end and recover all illegally acquired properties by the deceased.

Acting spokesman for the EFCC, Tony Orilade, could not be reached by our correspondent for his reaction to the issue as of the time of filing this report on Friday.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, could not respond immediately. A text message sent to him was still being awaited as of the time of filing this report.

See as Abba Kyari and the presidency cabal have continued to conceal their own corruption.Yet the govt is fighting corruption.

Lawal Babachir is Alex Badeh's kinsman who have not only been frequenting Aso Rock Villa (since his indictment without prosecution), but he is even the NE coordinator for Buhari's re-election bid.

Perhaps Babachir was a lesser evil to the cabals.So why must Alex Badeh go in this gruesome way? Something is not adding up.

This story doesn't add up. U met Aisha who asked u to meet kyari to clear your name only to be assassinated. My take is that he had information that could expose a lot, he threatened to release such if his name isn't cleared and so was silenced. The jubril matter comes to mind again

So Alex Badeh rather than face his corruption case in court, was trying to get Buhari's mercy through the wife?

But PDP killed him once they realised he was trying to strike a deal to expose the rot of the Jonathan PDP regime he served and looted from.

Badeh's proceed of corruption must never be spared despite his death.


If PDP had access to Dasuki, they would have killed him long ago, because of the information he possesses on the Jonathan and PDP regime.

Dasuki should be grateful to Buhari that he is being kept in isolation for his own safety.

Even Jonathan asked for billions of Naira before he can appear in court to witness for Olisa Metuh.

Some dudes here have comprehension problem. Everything negative now, it's Buhari behind it.

I can see some commenters above already insinuating a conspiracy. The fact that he met Aisha and COS is not out of place. They all do it - all of them who have cases with EFCC. These two were met to get the ears of Buhari.

It's downright ridiculous to say because he met with Aisha and COS some 3 weeks ago, then they or Buhari had a hand in his death. Whoever thinks that way is either naive or deliberately playing to the gallery.
