Tolerance And Coexistence Between Non Muslims In Society by RealoneRRO1: 11:53pm On Dec 22, 2018
Islam has honoured humans regardless of their Religion. Allah the all Almighty says, “And we have certainly honoured the children of Adam and carried them on sea and provided for them of the good thing and the preferred them over much of what we have created (with definite preference).”(Al-Isra’17;70)
When prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) migrated to Madinah, he showed kindness to the jews and drafted the charter of Madinah to organize the relationships between the different clans and tribes inhabiting Madinah. This document stated that justice must be done between the people of Madinah regardless of their beliefs or religion, and that nobody shell be coerced to adopt the religion of Islam. Allah the Almighty says, “And had your lord willed, those on earth would have believed-all of them entirely. Then (O Muhammad), would compel the people in other that they become believers. “(Yunus 10:99)
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to show kindness and benevolence to all people without discriminating between them. He would sell to or buy from Muslim and non-Muslim alike. He even passed away while his iron armour was mortgaged to a Jew in Madinah for some barley. In his migration journey to Madinah, he hired a Jewish man to guide him to Madinah and trusted with is life. A young Jewish boy who was in the service of the prophet (peace be upon him) fell ill. The prophet (peace be upon him) went to visit him. He sat by his head and say to him, “Embrace Islam” and the boy did. Once a Jewish woman invited him to dinner, the prophet (peace be upon him) accepted her invitation out of kindness and modesty. Furthermore, he forbade doing harm to non-Muslim without a justifiable right to do so; the prophet (peace be upon him) said, “ whoever killed a mu’ahid (a person who is granted the pledge of protection by Muslims) shell not smell the fragrance of paradise though its fragrance can be smelt at a distance of forty years (of travelling).”(Al-Bukhari)
Safwan reported from a number of the companions of the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on the authority of their father who were relative of each other. The messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, ”Beware! He who oppresses a mu’ahid or does him injustice or burdens him more than his strength or takes anything from him without his consent, I myself shall plead against him on the day of judgment. “(Abu Dawud)
Once a funeral passed by the messenger of Allah and he stood up, and it was said to him, ”it is Jew. “He said, “Is it not a soul? “(Al-Bukhari)
The Glorious Qur’an has stated (concerning a dispute between a Muslim and a Jew) that the Jewish man was innocent and the is Muslim opponent was the one who transgressed. The following verse warns the prophet(peace be upon him) no to dispute on behave for a traitor (even if he is a Muslim) against an innocent (even if is a Jew). Allah the Almighty says, “Indeed, we have revealed to you (O Muhammad), the books in truth so you may judge between the people by that which Allah has shown you. And do not be for the deceitful an advocate. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is ever forgiving and merciful (An-Nisa 4;105-106)
Allah the Exalted says in another verse, “Allah does not forbid you from who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes-from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.” (Al-Mumtahanah 60:cool
