https://nextedition.com.ng/2018/12/24/unknown-gunmen-attack-oau-hostel-kill-300-level-student/ Unknown gunmen have killed a 300-level student of the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Abiodun Babalola. Sources say the student died from injuries sustained when the gunmen attacked the ‘Adam and Eve Hostel,’ located at the Parakin Area, along Ede-Road in Ile-Ife on Saturday evening. Many other students sustained various degrees of injuries. Confirming the development, the Public Relations Officer of the university, Abiodun Olarewaju, said that as soon as the matter was brought to the university’s notice, the security operatives swung into action and rescued the victims from their attackers. According to Olarewaju, the victims were instantly moved to the university’s health Centre before Babalola and a few others were referred to the teaching hospital.
