Just curious and the double standard of all the 3tiers Of Goverment On state police.

Can we have a fruitful and enlightened discussion on this

State Police will have civic duties and anyone of any religious background join. Hisbah is a religious code enforcer. Not anyone can join.

Let me give you example. Kaduna State can operate both State and Hisbah, assuming they practice Shariah....and the two will be mutually exclusive.

It will be like asking in Yorubaland what is the difference between a Judge and an Ogboni Chief?

One is civic the other is customary.
Ogboni will never ask youbto take oath with Bible or Quran but the in his court, a Judge will demand that before accepting testimony.

don't make a fool of yourself, even ur reply contradicts itself,u can't use ogboni as an example in dis case cos dia laws r binding on only willing participants or members, and can't in anyway affect d economy of a state or country directly, sharia is like a customary court based on religious us beliefs, binding on those of that religion, which in d first place is wrong to apply in any state withing d Nigerian territory,as it implies a double standard and undermining of d Nigerian constitution,it is totally diff from customary courts,as anyone under any religion can b tried under customary court withing d area of belief of dat court based on d offence committed,it cuts across all dat live within its jurisdiction, its a customary law,now to Hisbah, its bit cuts across financial, economic, religious and moral laws, and it draws its anticidents from d Islamic rule book, since its not sharia,it can b applied to all persons, since its constitutionally backed, state wise,it is localised, there assuming d form of a state parastal for enforcement of its statutes on all within dat state, der fore making it a state police, showing d double standard d is at d helm of affairs of d our nation portray, only Muslim state are allows to operate sharia or hisbah contrary to d contstution is and encouraged by those in power.consider a state dominated by ppl dat belief in idols making it mandatory for all withing dia state to follow dia laws and make sacrifice, dey form a group backed by law and supported by federal might to enforce this, would dat b OK with u. secondary stopping people from a particular way of dressing, eating ,living or lifestyle or drinking is according to a particular belief not a general belief,it affects d sales of those involved in dat biz,,enforcing it across d board if an offence punishable under d Nigerian constitution but what do u have instead its d opposite,so my friend above, hisbah is a state police

Hisbah enforces sharia law while state police enforces state laws. BUHARI is like Hisbah, not educated while Atiku is like state police, educated. Hope you can see the difference.

Hisbah is equivalient to state police coz they enforce non Muslims

Nigeria police is the only institution in Nigeria backed by LAW with the power of arrest. But in Kano state, the hisbah board arrest people illegally for going about their constitutionally backed human rights activities. Thus, we have a situation where an Illegal body not recognized by the constitution goes about arresting people for performing legal activities as backed by the Nigerian constitution. See why Nnamdi Kanu call this pathetic country a zoo?
One Nigeria is nothing but a mirage.

Why do you say they enforce non-muslims?

Hisbah is state police that enforces Sharia laws of the state....

States in the north that has hisbah can never support any other southern state to have her own state police...

Such hypocrisy stinks to high heavens

Let’s take the issue of beer destroyed in Kano Of recent as a typical example

We all know that from religious stance Muslims are not allowed to drink beer or partake in it

So destroying the beers is enforcing other non Muslims or deriving them of their rights

the question is : does the hisbah have legally backing powers to carry out the duties of the Nigerian police if not then there is a very big problem in the north.
Re: What Is The Difference Between State Police & Hisbah by baralatie(m): 1:45pm On Dec 27, 2018
another question is does the declaration of a state to practice sharia as a customary law supersede the Nigerian constitution which protects its own citizens

That’s the truth

If other parts of the country will also asked that some certain traditions performed by Muslims should not be conducted on their land

How will they respond?

another question is this.is it reasonable for states which practice sharia and enact state laws to ban and restrict the establishment of brewery factories and its supply chains ,to be a recipient of vat incomes on brewery products.
