As Nigeria gets closer to the 2019 general elections, the Igbo World Assembly has declared that the various presidential candidates were yet to convince Ndigbo on why they should cast votes for them.

This stand was made known by Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, the President of the Igbo World Assembly.

He spoke in a statement announcing events lined up for the Igbo International Retreat, billed to hold at Abagana, Anambra State tomorrow, Friday.

Anakwenze urged the presidential candidates “to use the opportunity provided by this event to unveil their agenda for Ndigbo, as the region is not ready to follow anyone sheepishly.”

He added that apart from presidential candidates, “other candidates for elective positions

in Igbo should come and tell the people what they have in stock for them.

“The annual event addresses the economic, political and social challenges in Igbo land and Nigeria.

“We are not unmindful of the challenges facing the Southeast politically, economically and socially and the earlier we begin to jointly address them the better for all of us. As a people, we have to remain united, especially as we inch closer to the 2019 election.

“Among the speakers expected at the event are Prof Maduike Ezeibe, Prof Emma Okocha, Prof Pita Ejiofor, Barr Oyibo Chukwu, Prof Aja Kpuru Ajah, Prof Greg Ibe and a host of other Academics.”

And one day the igbos will aspire to be the President of this nation and stop seeing ourselves as visitors.

What kinda mentality is this!?
We all have the right to lead the nation.

All this election talk is nauseating. Politics divides us more than religion and tribalism. I rather read about some olosho actress showing cleavage than read about politics.

That day will never ever come until you stop abusing other tribes calling yourself the Jews of Africa who are superior to other tribes. Do you think a Hausa, Fulani, Tiv, Ebira, Kanuri man gives a damn about the Jews of Africa or Jews of Middle East? The same narcissism that made Emeka Ojukwu to declare a senseless war against the Federal Republic of Nigeria. No Igbo man will ever rule Nigeria until you get some brains into those flat heads of yours.

So it is hate speech that Yorubas want to be president in 2023? You better tell your people to vote APC next year and stop abusing other tribes or you forget anything presidency. Politics is investment. You reap according to your investment. If you invest 5% votes, you will reap 5% infrastructure.

Presidency will never be zoned to the South-East, instead it can only be zoned to the South for all Southern tribes to contest. The Presidency was not zoned to the South-West when Obasanjo became president. Instead it was zoned to the South and several Igbos including Alex Ekwueme contested and lost against Obasanjo at the PDP primaries.

When Osibanjo and Fashola did not say anything in 2015 how much votes did the south east contribute to bring APC to power?

You are talking as though your votes count. Donate it to Atiku just as you did Jonathan in 2015 it will still not matter

What agenda are they looking for again after Ohaneze declared support for Atiku? Obi as Vice President is the only agenda that Igbo people desire and Atiku already gave them the slot.

It is hate speech for a Yoruba politician to campaign in Yorubaland for a Yoruba presidency in 2023?

You guys are a sad case of mental delusion and victim/persecution complex.

Continue waiting for the Nigerian presidency to be gifted to you.

I reckon the below from 2012 is also hate speech from Ezeife?

I had to read the post twice to be sure I read him well.

The same way Awolowo is a tribalist because he dared to democratically win the premiership of his own Western region ahead of Azikiwe who was hoping to use Yoruba parliamentary seats to become premier.

Maybe Fashola and Osinbajo should have come to Yorubaland and be campaigning for Buhari votes by promising the Yoruba voters an Igbo presidency in 2023 under the APC, while the same Igbos are prepared to vote for PDP.
