There was a mild drama at the state secretariat of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Awka when a political aide to the Governor Of Anambra State Willie Obiano known as Mr Ifeatu Obi-Okoye in a fit of rage stormed out of what was to be a meeting of the newly inaugurated National campaign council of the party, alleging victimization and accusing the National Chairman Chief Victor Oye of being a habitual cocaine user. He went on to allege that even Oye’s police orderlies and security details are privy to this, and his wife has been so concerned that she has been inviting priests to their home to pray over this issue.

This was in reaction to his non inclusion in the Campaign Council by the National Chairman Who claimed that this would not be in the best interests of the party as the political aide, Obi-Okoye had an issue with excessive alcohol consumption and was also alleged to have impregnated his teenage househelp. These issues therefore rendered him unfit for inclusion in the Committee. It was said that the situation almost degenerated to fisticuffs, which led to the postponement of the meeting.

Indications are that the dust is yet to settle from the controversial primaries which has left the party in disarray with party officials and political appointees trading blames. Meantime, Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano who is currently on vacation in the United States Of America has called for calm, mandating the party chairman, Oye to include the political aide in the Committee, a situation which the chairman has sworn can happen only ‘over his dead body’.
