Buhari has blamed everyone and every other thing for his failure and failed govt. They have blamed GEJ, the opposition PDP, Nigerian populace (with the Lazy Youth statemen)t and even God Himself was not exempted in their blame game. Lately, Buhari has blamed the system for his inability to wage a successful war on corruption.

In typical irresponsible Buharist logic, Buhari claims his inability to deliver on his anticorruption campaign promise, lies not in stemming corruption by public holders to which his govt and appointees are neck deep in but rather he has laid the blame squarely on the judiciary process. This is despite the fact that Buhari has yet to pass one single executive order, or bill that will deter sharp practices by public servants and political office holders. Every instrument at his disposal in checking corruption was an initiative of the 16yr PDP administration to which he inherited. But this is not enough for Buhari as he sees only punitive actions on opposition elements as the only way to achieve success in his fake anticorruption war.

The warning signs of Buhari's autocratic nature where revealed early into his administration when some northern APC members in the National Assembly alongside some northern elders began the clamour for Buhari to be given supreme powers and the constitution suspended. One of these APC legislator claimed that for Buhari to deliver on his promises, the constitution must be suspended and Buhari arrogated supreme powers. Remi Tinubu has told us that by next year, the APC will present a more favorable list of legislators who she stated will be more cooperative with the executive akin to how state assemblies are mere rubber stamps to their respective governors. To this aim, the APC machinery has weeded out some of their members who they think are not 100 percent loyal to either Bola Tinubu and or Buhari.

The APC will not only concentrate on rigging gubernatorial and presidential elections only but will extend as much resources and energy in seeing that they clinch the National Assembly. With an APC dominated and controlled NASS that will be constituted by blind loyalists and puppets, Buhari will be able to control the house to the benefit of his and the cabals selfish desires.

The APC house will pass antidemocratoc laws that will see to more powers arrogated to the president at the expense of both the legislative and judiciary. The say power begets more powers and with that Buhari will increase his demands for more powers to which the APC puppets in NASS will oblige him culminating to the point at which Buhari will be declared supreme leader and the NASS disolved.

The former Minister of Police Affairs, Dr Ibrahim Yakubu Lame has advocated for the establishment of emergency powers to the President instead of following the long process that will deter the speed action when necessary. The former Minister made the remark while fielding questions yesterday from newsmen in Bauchi where he tasked Nigerians to see the emergence of President Muhammad Buhari on the leadership of the country as necessary condition for peace, development and credible change in the polity. According to him, the leadership of President Muhammad Buhari under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in which change was yearned for by Nigerians is geared to remove institutional decay, corruption and incompetence in the system that has affected so many sectors in the country, urging President Buhari to re-establish capacity, competence and integrity in national leadership at all levels including the private sector and the public sector.

He advocated for the bestowment of emergency powers on President Muhammad Buhari that will not destroy democracy but make the system to effectively function, work and arrest the fundamental issue of decay in the society, saying that democracy is about the welfare, security and safety of the people, so there is need to take steps to ensure that Buhari succeeds without compromising the concept of representation.
The APC gubernatorial aspirant in Bauchi state during the last elections noted that noted that Nigerians now have a leader who demonstrated the desire and capacity to change; hence an environment must be created for him to achieve that change.

“We can do that for certain number of years, say in the next four years let’s do away with certain obstacles that will stop Buhari from functioning. After that, if it is not possible we add another four years, eight years in a life of a nation is not much to re-establish and re-position it is just doing what is expected. So if there are issues within the Constitution that are abused or being manipulated to stop Buhari from succeeding, we must remove or set them aside for now without compromising the fundamental position of the constitution”, he added.

Soyinka is also a PDP youth Abu?

Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka, has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari over his comments at the opening ceremony of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference last Sunday.

In a statement Thursday, Mr Soyinka mocked the president by saying Mr Buhari had obviously given a deep thought to his travails under a military dictatorship and concluded that his incarceration at that time was also in the ‘national interest.’

Mr Buhari was imprisoned for years by the Ibrahim Babangida regime after his military dictatorship was overthrown in 1985.
Since returning to power in 2015, Mr Buhari’s government has held some Nigerians for years without trial. High profile detainees have been denied freedom despite court orders.

“Here we go again,” Mr Soyinka said in the statement he titled ‘Buhari’s Pernicious Doctrine.’

“At his first coming, it was ‘I intend to tamper with Freedom of the Press,’ and Buhari did proceed to suit action to the words, sending two journalists – Irabor and Thompson – to prison as a reward for their professional integrity.

“Now, a vague, vaporous, but commodious concept dubbed “national interest” is being trotted out as alibi for flouting the decisions of the Nigerian judiciary. President Buhari has obviously given deep thought to his travails under a military dictatorship, and concluded that his incarceration was also in the ‘national interest.’”

Mr Buhari sparked outrage with his statement while addressing a gathering of lawyers when he said: “the rule of law must be subject to the supremacy of the nation’s security and national interest.”

The president’s comments drew criticisms from the lawyers and Nigerians who condemned his statement in strong terms.

In his statement on Thursday, Mr Soyinka described the timing of the president’s speech as “perfect.”

“We have cause to be thankful for the advance warning, since not all rulers actually make a declaration of intent, but simply proceed to degrade the authority of the law as part of the routine business of governance,” said Mr Soyinka.

“We have been there before. It should be of mere interest, not despondency, that this latest proclamation of dictatorial recidivism has also been made before an assembly of officers of the law, the Nigerian Bar Association. We expect a robust response from the NBA as part of its conclusions.”

Mr Soyinka noted that there is no shortcut to democracy and that the history of law, even where uncodified, is as old as humanity.

“Numerous rulers have tried again and again to annul that institution,” he said.
.
“Sometimes, they appear to succeed, but in the end, they pay heavy forfeit. So does society.

“The rule of law, however, outlasts all subverters, however seemingly powerful. If the consequences for society in defence of the rule of law were not so costly, any new attempt would be merely banal and boring, hardly deserving of attention. We know, historically, where it will all end.”

ImadeUReadThis:
The People's Tyrant

Plato thought political regimes followed a predictable evolutionary course, from oligarchy to democracy to tyranny. Oligarchies give way to democracies when the elites fail, when they become spoiled, lazy, profligate, and when they develop interests apart from those they rule.

Democracies give way to tyrannies when mob passion overwhelms political wisdom and a populist autocrat seizes the masses. But the tyrant is not quite a tyrant at first. On the contrary, in a democracy the would-be tyrant offers himself as the people’s champion. He’s the ultimate simplifier, the one man who can make everything whole again.

Sound familiar?

Other than Plato's wise council on how a civilized society can find itself a few generations ahead under the vice-grip of a tyrant, the Holy Bible contain a treasure trove of wisdom on how mankind eventually lost their freedoms to their fellow man in the form of hero-worship.

God's original grand plan for man was for man to exist side by side with Him. Then man rebelled and God had to banish Adam and Eve from His presence.

God's overwhelming love for mankind led God to still establish contact with man via heavenly emissaries to those select few He saw worthy of His contact warning and guiding the people through His Prophets of old. We can then safely assume that Theocracy was the first and earliest form of human governance.

Then the temptation of Moses occurred where he gave in to appointing Judges to help deputize God's authority among the Israelites. This marked the Legislative era of corrupt judges.

Groaning under the corruption they had found themselves, the Jews decided that it be wise to appoint a single man among themselves to rule over them and to purge the corruption of the Judges and Priests. The anointing of Saul as King was the beginning of tyranny that the Jews will face for most part of their history.

Despotism thus arises when a given set of people have given up on their own ability to govern themselves and it usually precedes that of a democratized period.

We are witnessing a severe assault on our nascent democracy by surprisingly enough those who are currently within the corridor of power as a result of the same democratic processes.

To these set of charlatans, democracy is merely a means to acquire power and not a suitable form of governance.

To these bunch of tin gods, the very people who elected them into power are to be whipped into line and their concerns and voice gagged.

Surprisingly their gullible zombies are very much in agreement with their assault on democracy and her tenets.

I don't blame Buhari at all for being a despot and a tyrant neither do I blame his hordes of Abacha era cronies and sycophants that have been transplanted from their state of hibernation into the corridors of Aso Rock. Rather I lay the blame squarely on the myopic, slavish and gullible morons who voted and still champion this despot as the best thing since slice bread.

The worst Senate is better than a saintly dictator

:

We owe Shakespeare a lot in re branding the wannabe dictator Julius Caeser into a Roman martyr.
According to Shakespeare, whose plays were bankrolled by the British Crown, Brutus and Cassius were not only traitors but treacherous fellows of the worst kind who assassinated Julius Caeser in cold blood.

While Shakespeare did acknowledge Brutus' motives in assassinating Caeser (for Brutus stated that Rome must remain a democratic Republic) Shakespeare failed to portray Caeser in his true colors. Caeser's ambition to transform the Republic to his personal Kingdom was doused by Shakespeare who wanted us to believe that the Roman proletarian class were the ones urging Caeser to assume maximum powers as Rome's first despotic ruler.

When Caeser crossed the Rubicon river, he did this not as a showcase of his military conquest of Gaul in a victory parade in Rome but as a final putsch towards assuming supreme powers and authority over Rome.
This is how the idiom "Crossing the Rubicon" came about which means to pass a point of no return. Julius Caesar uttered the famous phrase "alea iacta est"—the die is cast as his army marched through the shallow river - an act which was considered an insurrection and treasonable offence. Caeser's deliberate act of treason which he committed by Crossing the Rubicon was premeditated and well planned towards seizing power for himself and bringing to an end the Roman democratic tradition . Even the word "cease" owes it's origin to Julius Ceaser.

Now why will Shakespeare distort history in his plays? Well, Shakespeare happened to have enjoyed a very generous annual pension from the British Crown and patronage among the English nobility during his time. There are even speculations that Shakespeare may not have authored most of his plays. Around 230 years after Shakespeare's death, doubts began to be expressed about the authorship of the works attributed to him. Proposed alternative candidates include Francis Bacon, Christopher Marlowe, and Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford. The Elizabethan era began the erosion of monarchial powers with mounted pressure by some members of the political class demanding the Monarchy assume ceremonial roles. It is thus not coincidental that Shakespeare will rewrite the history of ancient Rome in an attempt to portray the Roman Senate as treacherous. Shakespeare's caricature depiction of Cassius as sickly and bent was a personification of democracy and the legislative powers of elected officials below that of the Monarchy. Hence the need to depict Cassius a standing Senator of Rome as a sickly angry leach!

The final outcome of Caeser's attempt at assuming full maximum powers is that Rome ceased to be a democracy, a civil war ensued and the man Caeser died and with him the glory of a democratic Republic of Rome.

Just like Shakespeare (or his nobility muse) we have today a very active propaganda machinery desperate at un-bundling the Senate and ushering in a despotic ruler.

That article was first posted here on NL specifically to address the growing anti-legislative sentiments that sprang up after Tinubu was disgraced by Saraki to which Tinubu went to town demonizing the Senate from where Buhari latched on the anti-legislative train to blame the Senate for his gross incompetency.

When the tyrant seized power in 1984, he not only arrested politicians but banned any form of political activity. At this point your foolish fathers clapped since Buhari lied to them that the politicians had stole all the money.

Buhari will later go on a tug of war with the judiciary after they refused to do his doing. To this effect, Buhari rolled out kangaroo courst in the form Military tribunals to take over court cases that the judiciary refused to entertain citing constitutional breaches. Your fathers still clapped for him and said Nigeria required a "strong hand" to correct all her ills.

The press will then be Buhari's next victim with his autocratic decree 4. Your dumb ass fathers still clapped stating that decree 4 was necessary to shield the military junta from unnecessary criticism and distractions.

Buhari will later turn on your fathers with his War against indiscipline, whipping them into line and defending his brutal actions on the fact that your fathers were senseless, useless and indiscipline. At this point, barbed wire fencing was used to barricade Ikorodu rd and other places as a means of preventing your fathers like cattle in their attempt to jay-walk across the highway. At this point the entire nation was being run like one massive barrack with shut downs every month so that your useless and senseless fathers are forced to clean Lagos gutters. It is athis point that sense began to fall on them, but when they cried out they were thrown in jail with no politician to voice their cries, no judiciary to intervene on their behalf and no press to speak for them.

It was then no surprise that when IBB successfully deposed tyrant Buhari your same useless fathers who only 27mths prior had swarm the streets of Lagos welcoming Buhari's treasonable act against Nigeria, your same useless fathers will spill the streets to thank IBB for saving them from tyrant Buhari.

You are a plebian with no sentient disposition; an NPC zombie.
