What translations? The words are Igbo and cannot have another translations that are not rooted in Igbo vernacular.

Ekpeye Masquerade festival (Owu Ekpeye).
There is no place as sweet as your native home and one of those funs you can catch when you travel back home for yuletide especially in Rivers State is masquerade dance.

And Ekpeye Masquerade festival (Called OWU EKPEYE) is one of the most enjoyable Cultural festivals in Rivers State.

We must secure our culture, which is our Heritage.

Our culture tells of our roots, reminds us of who we are and where we came from. Therefore, We have to preserve our culture for the future generations to come.

And each family is also recognized for a particular kind or type of masquerade they usually danced.

Pictured below are the people of Igbu Ehuda showcasing their cultural values and heritage in the second phase of the OWU FESTIVAL (MASQUERADE DANCE).

The following Masquerades (Owus) are present:

1. Ogbumadube (One who kills and lives) lol...

2. Eke Eteh (Big Ear)

3. Nwa ala

4. Kampala

5. Enyii (The Elephant)

6. Onoo Eka (Tiger)

7. Owu Anakanii (Masquerade for Old women)

8. Ekele Agbalaa (Huge or Mighty Spirit)

There is peace, love, unity, and togetherness as the people came out in mass to grace this event.

See Photos below.

Ogbumadube means one who kills some1 n his house, yoruba media

The "be" in "Ogbumadube" is actually pronounced as "bi" which means "live"

So, Ogbumadube In Ekpeye translates to "He who kills man and lives".

Which means that the spirit (Masquerade) can kill someone, without suffering any consequences( being killed itself) in return.

Ofcourse, Ekpeye is Igbo, despite the people Bini origin stories. It's obvious the tradition is deeply rooted in Igbo.
