Those who think that the Multi-National Joint Task Force, MNJTF and the Nigerian Army, have succeeded in dislodging the Abubakar Shekau’s led BokoHaram insurgents in the fishing town of Baga, Kukawa local government , of Borno state, would be disappointed. This is because the insurgents are still holding on to the well trained MNJTF and Nigerian soldiers in a fierce battle for control of the fishing town.

Sani Kukasheke Usman, a Brigadier General, and Director of Army Public Relations had said last week that the situation in Baga was under control, stressing that ”residents have no cause to worry”.Thousands of people were said to have fled the town with a few of their personal belongings to Maiduguri , the state Capital, to avoid being killed in the cross fire.

As at press time, some of the run-away residents of the Baga fishing town,, mostly women and children were yet to be accommodated by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, as they roam about the streets of the City, exposing them to further danger, thus making a mockery of president Muhammadu Buhari Security measures in the north east.
