Former Arsenal striker, Ian Wright, has said manager Unai Emery should be handed transfer funds, after their 5-1 hammering at the hands of Liverpool.

The Gunners started brightly at Anfield and took a surprise lead through Ainsley Maitland-Niles in just the 11th minute.

But the away side’s joy was short lived as Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah dismantled Emery’s men, smashing five goals past them.

Wright spoke about his former team on his YouTube channel, where he made the claim that the club needs to sell certain players.

He added that the money saved from letting these players go could hopefully result in funds being made available to the Spaniard.

“We’ve got to move players on that need to be moved on.

“What that showed me is we need players, there’s three or four players in that starting line-up that should be moved on or farmed out because we need to start to progress.

“Hopefully that result will start to release some funds for Unai,” Wright said.
