Ge 1:26
¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

After Lucifer fell from his glory, God created man,and made him head over all things.Man was head over creation,angels and  demons .Man was given dominion. However the dominion will not naturaly manifest until man take responsibility to dominate. God had to give man specisal instructions on that original purpose.

Ge 1:28
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and[b] have dominion[/b] over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

But sad to say ,Adam also lost his dominion and fell from glory like satan did. And satan seized the moment and took over  the Adamic authority and dominion.

But Christ  came as another Adam , defeated the devil and  striped him of all his power and authority,restored all things back to man.

Mt 28:18
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

But beyond this he also raised up a new kind of people, The new creation., The christians.We have thesame life he has, We have thesame nature with him. We have thesame authority.We have dominion  over death,sickness ,sin,poverty and devils. We have dominion over everything.

You are not a victim of circumstances. All you need do is to find out from Gods word what belongd to you in christ, and walk in the light of it. You have dominion over the world. You can fulfil what Adam lost.
