Kwara APC Chair, Balogun-fulani Hails INEC Decision To Abide By Court Judgement by Niyilight: 7:16pm On Jan 01, 2019 |
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Kwara State, Alhaji Ishola Balogun-Fulani has hailed the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to abide by court judgement nullifying the Bashir Bolarinwa-led executive committee of the party. A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin had recently sacked the Bolarinwa-led executive committee and asked INEC to only recognise the list of members of the executive committee presented by the Balogun-Fulani faction. In a statement on Tuesday, Balogun-Fulani described the decision of INEC to abide by the court ruling as a welcome development, stressing that it is binding on the electoral body to obey court judgments. “This is a victory for democracy and we are grateful to INEC for standing by justice,” he added. He reiterated that Alhaji Kayode Omotose remains the authentic and only recognised governorship candidate of the APC in Kwara and advised Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to stop parading himself as the gubernatorial candidate of the party. Balogun-Fulani said the party would forward the names of Kayode Omotose and other candidates who emerged through the primary election conducted by his executive committee to the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomole and INEC as stipulated by the court judgement. He said the party would soon flag-off its gubernatorial campaign and expressed confidence that Omotose would emerge victorious in the forthcoming election.

seriously, there is confusing in the party on who fraction is to lead. I had listened to both fraction of the party on the radio. the truth will be known when the president comes to kwara state and he gives the party flag to, will be known as the substantive chairman |

PaChukwudi44:Just like in the case of Buruji Kashamu Vs Ladi Adebutu in PDP Ogun, APC national Executive preferred candidate will emerge. The party reserves the right to sanction/suspend any erring state executive. |

tuniski:You are wrong because what matters to the people is a change of party from any one related to saraki. So whether saraki's house boy is the faction's gubernatorial candidate doesn't matter as long as it's not pdp. However, that judgement will not see the light of the day either at the appeal or supreme court |

tuniski:The case is still also in court with Razak Rahman as the Candidate. In the case of Jimoh Ibrahim Vs Eyitayo Jegede in Ondo state, the Supreme Court gave their judgement in favour of the Party PDP/ Eyitayo Jegede against Jimoh Ibrahim. The Supreme Court can not contradict itself in similar cases, So both Ladi Adebutu and Razak Rahman will fly their parties flags. |
