• Asks govs to plug waste to accommodate workers’ demand • Pleads with NLC for more time to resolve logjam Following Nigerian Labour Congress’ (NLC) threat to call out workers on indefinite strike on Tuesday to protest non-implementation of the N30,000 minimum wage recommended by the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage, the presidency has moved to pacify the workers, appealing to them to tarry a while on their planned action. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2019/01/03/minimum-wage-presidency-moves-to-appease-labour/?amp

Buhari is using delay tactics to deal with NLC, it serves them best after all, they allowed APC led Fed. govt. to turn Labour into a political party, see Buhari using state Governors as excuse for delay, he should increase the allocation of each state to enable the Governors meet up with de #30,000 minimum wage. 18 Likes 1 Share |

Its unfortunate that Nigerian government is taking her work force for granted, while the NLC is dancing unclad in the market. In sane countries, massive protest by the citizens would have been applied, but here in Nigeria, you dare not exercise your right else you become target. If ex-service chiefs with armoury of security at his /her disposal could be assassinated like commoners, then no one is safe. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

The FG SHOULD do the right thing about this, while the senators get their acts together and soeedy up with the 2019 budget. Yes, we can mewt up with the minimum wage, we have a good and reasonable President who is doing all he can to take our country to a land flowing with milk and honey. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

nero2face: The state governors are the problem not the FG. State govts have always been the problem of Nigeria not the FG. If FG give them more money, the governors will still not want to pay but embezzle the money like they always do. FIGHT AND BLAME YOUR STATE GOVERNORS NOT THE FG. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

........... I will keep saying it, this are bunch of idiot holding positions and offices in this country. order than this nlc thieves fight and lock down the entire nation in agitation against and for our public servants (polithiefcians) to reduce their take home, all they do is fight for crumbs that has no effect on the larger society but themselves which in turn don't meet their needs. bunch of myopic greedy leaders worse than even our polithiefcians feeding fat on the deductions from the wages and salaries of their innocent and foolish colleagues. let them call the entire nation out against this devils managing our common wealth and standby to see the mass and massive support they will get. |

Misguided labour leaders! Labour should harp on deep cuts in the emoluments Of Nigerian Legislators and security votes of the Executive. Strangely they are not weighing in heavily on that. Who says the Executive doesn’t know salaries need a review from time to time! The excuse that it is not affordable is untenable in the circumstances of the mind boggling emoluments of the legislators and the executive. |
