Anambra Ifitedunu Community Culture by Graciafr21: 7:59am On Jan 03, 2019 |
Hello, I am from Indonesia. I have relationship with my boyfriend from Ifitedunu Anambra, for almost 4 years and everything is going so well, I bring him into my family and they have accept him also all his family know me even his mom we used to talk on phone call or VC, we always talk about our plan to get married this year, but suddenly I heard that he is getting married with another girl that come from the same village with him and they answer the same surename. I was asking him for the explanation and he say that is because of the culture of his village, if he not marry from his village people then he will died that there is some culture that choose him to marry that girl, he said he will come back to Indonesia and marry me too, that he has finish what the culture make him to do. my question is, is there any culture like that ? because I don't understand about the culture of igbo people. should I wait for him ? I love him with all my heart, 4 years live together is not easy to accept this. Best regards |

Graciafr21: That's what I mean when i said trust issues. And now that you've already concluded is a lie. What difference will it now make seeking anyone's opinion. Am from Anambra state and in my community we don't practise such in our tradition, in fact is a taboo to marry your own sister but that doesn't mean is same for other communities. But coming in a forum like this to seek answers is very risky cos you can be deceived and you loose everything. Trust issues in relationships is what kills relationships today. 2 Likes |

Graciafr21: I hate it when people play with other person's emotions and smartness! I am a full fleshed Igbo man. I will hit my chest and tell, there is no culture like that. Such doesn't exist even if it does, it's exception with people from Royal family. Your suppose boyfriend is playing with your intelligence and possibly, using you to secure his permanent residence in Indonesia. That is the simple truth. I wish you recovery from this heartbreak. Just move on and be open to love who loves you truly. Even if he marries you, you are never recognised in Nigeria as his wife since he just got married. |
