MANCHESTER UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning to take his players to Dubai this weekend - but not as a reward for their performance.

Manchester United have had an upturn in results since the Norwegian’s arrival prior to Christmas as they continue to make ground on the top four.

Solskjaer has lifted the apparent doom and gloom mood around the camp during Jose Mourinho’s final few months and has his stars playing the type of football the fans crave.

And the interim boss is keen to continue building on his strong start by whisking his players away to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp following their third-round FA Cup tie with Reading this weekend.

The Daily Mail claim the squad will fly out on Saturday evening for a four-day camp to prepare them for their crunch Premier League clash against Tottenham on January.
But the ‘baby-faced assassin’ is not treating it as a holiday for his players and will instead use the opportunity to assess who he can rely on in the coming months of the season.

Solskjaer has so far only clashed with one player, Anthony Martial, during his first few weeks at the club after he missed training on Christmas Day.

The Frenchman arrived late from Paris, missing the evening session Solskjaer had planned, and the striker was reprimanded.

Solskjaer will stress the importance of such incidents when working closely with his players in Dubai as he aims to instil his own discipline on the team.

Mourinho had several clashes with players during his time at Old Trafford with Paul Pogba and Martial the most notable.

But Solskjaer is hoping to adopt a different approach and keep peace at the club, all working together in harmony.

“You speak to the players with what we, as a staff, expect from the group,” Solskjaer said.

“Never ever, ever, ever forget where you are and what badge you are wearing when you are playing because we do have a different history to other clubs.
“We do have a different tradition. We have had the best boss in the world. We’ve had Sir Matt before then. We have a way of behaving and a way of playing.

“It is so lovely to walk in here and Kath, the receptionist, still wants to be here. There is a reason players come here but there is also a reason the staff are employed.

“The staff are here because they are the best at what they are doing. If we can have that continuity, with Kath or the kitchen staff, that’s so important.

“They know what’s expected and they know the culture of the club.
