Rigging Plot: INEC’s Haste in Defending APC, Suspicious - PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO) says the haste by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to haul insults at the PDP and defend the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the alleged pressure on it to drop the display of results at polling center, evinces that INEC is being compromised ahead of the polls.

Nigerians were shocked when the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, through his media aide, hauled insults at the PDP as “hallucinating” in response to PDP’s caution to the commission not to succumb to pressure and enticements by the APC and the Buhari Presidency to drop the result display and the electronic transmission of results to its main server.

In resorting to insults and engaging in a campaign of calumny instead of words of assurances to stakeholders, INEC has made a dive into the arena and accentuated anxieties by Nigerians as well as the international community that it is being compromised by the APC and the Buhari Presidency.

However, these needless insult of our party notwithstanding, we shall continue to hold the Prof Yakubu-led INEC to its responsibility to deliver a transparent, free, fair and credible 2019 general election.

It is also instructive for INEC to know that nothing will deter us from monitoring all the processes leading to this year's general elections and hold the commission accountable on every perceived infraction.

The PPCO restates firmly that on no account must INEC drop the display of results at the polling units and the electronic transmission of results to its server from its guidelines as being pressured by the APC and Buhari Presidency.

PDP Presidential Campaign also rejects any plan to use former National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) members as polls officials as this will amount to handing over the electoral process directly to the APC and the Buhari Presidency.

INEC goofed big time! Iot would have been better for INEC to calmly assure all parties of a level playing ground instead of using abusive language on PDP. When the referee start insulting the players of a particular team before the match, you don't need a prophet to know with team we win

Well ,I am prepared for another 4 years of PMB since it is obvious our votes may not count. As I told one jobless zombie who is a die-hard fan of PMB , they will soon see the foolishness of their actions when PMB turn Nigeria to Zimbabwe.

Everyday kola must wail to remain relevant, no be like this lai Mohammed take win opposition o!


It's not the frequency of noise you make but the quality and vibrancy that stands out, olisa metuh made more noise than kola but is languishing today

INEC was so quick to deny like a child caught with his hands in the cookie jar or a dirty old man caught pants down doing the unspeakable!

That would have been reasonable in a situation where both parties are running a normal campaign. The PDP is just throwing accusations around hoping that will somehow help its campaign.
I think the INEC did the right thing.

PDP has been accusing INEC of bias since they lost grip of power. Despite repeated assurances by INEC to all that elections will be free and fair, PDP has continuously heated the polity. Somehow this is not surprising, because they did a u turn to rubbish an election they conducted in 2015. INEC must continue to defend itself.
