The list of the Top 10 hottest Nigerian Artistes in the year 2018 was compiled and put together based on Hits songs, Impacts & Influence, outstanding feats achieved, records broken, International collaborations and mainstream success.

2018 was an amazing year in the Nigerian Music Industry, there were lots of hit songs (definitely!!!), plenty international collaborations, lots of accomplishments on the part of individual artistes, new records were set and many artistes reaching new heights.

10. Falz

Falz was having a rather quiet 2018 by his standards until he released the video “This is Nigeria”, a song inspired by childish gambino’s “This is America”. The song became an instant hit and began trending in Nigeria, garnering over 1 million views in less than 72 hours.

The song which was depicted by most people in Nigeria as the ‘state of the nation address’ created a ripple effect around his name like never before, with the video being his first to hit over 1 million views in less than 72 hours.

Falz later rolled out another cool track that created a heavy trend in Nigeria which he named “sweet boy”. The track began a trend as an association was formed, “the sweet boys association” which had notable handsome and fashionable celebrities like Ebuka, AY, Ramsey Noah etc, declaring their membership of the “sweet boys association” gang.

Then, topping things off Falz began trending again but this time in the movie scenes as he became the first Nigerian musician to bag two AMVCA awards. It was a magnificent year indeed for Falz, one he would not forget in a hurry.

9. Mayorkun

Mayorkun is one Nigerian artiste who has continued to improve steadily and consistently ever since his major break through in 2016. He did not also fail this year, as he stepped up and went toe-to-toe with the heavyweights in the Nigerian music industry and did superbly well.

Songs like “Fine bobo”, “tear rubber” “posh” and “Fantasy”, highlights just how amazing Mayorkun’s year was, not counting successful collaborative hit songs with DMW like Mind and Aje. Read More....
