The President and General Overseer of Bayelsa - based Odoko World Outreach Ministry , George Odoko , has denied labelling two children , who were killed by their father , wizards .

Though Odoko was said to have told the father of the deceased children , Sunday Otasi , that they ( children ) were behind his ( Otasi) ailment , the cleric denied ever meeting the suspect.

Otasi was said to have killed his two children with a popular insecticide – Sniper – after being influenced by the cleric .

But Odoko insisted that the suspect was never a member of the said church .
In a statement signed by him , the cleric said any attempt to link him or his ministry to such a heinous crime would be mischievous and devilish .

The Bayelsa State Police Command had on Tuesday arrested 42 - year -old Otasi for allegedly committing the dastardly act.

The three children were said to have run into trouble in September 2018 when the Yenagoa- based cleric allegedly told their father that they were wizards and responsible for his illness .

Odoko said , “ The attention of the members of the Bayelsa State- based Odoko World Outreach Ministry have been drawn to the ‘ mischievous’ and ‘ devilish ’ attempts to associate our General Overseer , Apostle George Odoko , with the reported claims that the arrested killer - father allegedly murdered his two sons based on a prophesy given in the church .

“ The members of the outreach described the report as misleading to suggest that the overseer did give a prophecy to one Sunday Otasi, a father of three , and alleged killer of his sons.

“ First , let us express our deepest condolences to the departed souls and commiserate with their family . Truth is irrepressible .
