PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubarka, has reacted to the arrest of Daily Trust journalists in Abuja by the Nigerian soldiers.

He said:
I have received with concern news of the sealing of Daily Trust corporate headquarters in Abuja. Freedom of the press is the bedrock of our democracy and nothing should be done to compromise it.

If Daily Trust as an institution or any of its staff is in breach of the law, I recommend that due process be followed and not a resort to the jackboot.

Atiku and PDP sure needs the services of seasoned propagandists that could help them latch onto these own goals from the government

Yes, Daily Trust and her journalists and editors might have committed 'grievous' crimes, it is the duty of the Police and other appropriate law enforcement agencies to bring the company to book for her recklessness.

It makes mockery of our democracy to have military men invade media houses under whatever guise. It was wrong in 1984 and is still very much wrong in 2019.

Atiku zombie? Atiku doesn't have zombies cos just 3 months ago, he wasn't just one of the PDP aspirants.
If you weren't a zombie (a creature devoid of independent reasoning), tackle the issue or message and leave out insulting the messenger

I am sure Atiku did not sort for the true reasons why the media house was raided before making such comment. Otherwise he would have known the importance of classified information in military warfare. That you are a journalist does not mean you should spew everything to the public domain. More so, when it affect public security.
