Gabon is not a West African country. Gabon is a Central African country

Why always African countries? sad

This problem of political instability will continue to hinder our progress.

Citing the possibility of violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, US president Donald Trump has deployed 80 troops with “appropriate equipment” and aircraft to the nearby Gabon, he informed Congress in a letter.
The first members of this US contingent arrived in Libreville, Gabon on January 2, Trump said in a letter sent to Congress on Friday. They are supposed to be “in position to support the security of United States citizens, personnel, and diplomatic facilities in Kinshasa.”

“Additional forces may deploy to Gabon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, or the Republic of the Congo, if necessary for these purposes,” added the letter, which Trump said was in line with his obligations under the War Powers Resolution (Public Law 93-148).

The troops will remain in the region until the security in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) “becomes such that their presence is no longer needed.”

Elections in the DRC took place on December 30, but the outcome has not yet been announced. The government of President Joseph Kabila, which is backing Emmanuel Ramazani Shadary to succeed him, says the elections were free and fair.

But US just deployed its military to Gabon to prevent crises in neighboring Congo, is this a mere coincidence?

The President of Gabon Ali Bongo is supposedly an Igbo man, he was adopted from the orphaned Biafra kids sent to Gabon by some charity organisations.
He was chosen as a successor by his father Umar Bongo despite efforts by his biological children to frustrate it

France has ensured that the family remain in power like in other Francophone countries such as Cameroon, Togo etc for their own interests

Well, you should have at least posted a link that we'll use in verifying your claim

I am surprised you are supporting the coup. Your 'God', the nepotistic Buhari, who has been running Nigeria like it belongs to him and his family will be next. It is always the duty of a responsible military to restore democracy and protect the constitution.
Bros you are very wrong, Buhari is democratically elected, hating his style of ruling is another issue, but the man has constitutional right to contest another election and if win, more 4 yrs for him. let us put sentiments aside when analyzing issues

Why Attempted Coup in Gabon Failed!

5 Lieutenants attempted to overthrow Ali Bongo in Gabon yesterday but they failed miserably.
Were they errand boys sent on a hopeless mission? Could they have been acting alone?
And what does it say about the future of Bongo's rule as he spends his 4th month outside of Gabon.
