wethebest: Go to any government hospital to take the vaccine if you're tested negative. Took a shot per month for 3 months when I was tested negative, and each shot cost me 500 naira. |

drakura: Lost my brother to it last month. His wasn't caused by alcohol but this same hepatitis B virus. It resulted into liver cirrhosis (scaring of the liver) bettercreature: Doctor told me that it becomes chronic in about 5% of the affected population, it only goes away on its own in about 95% of the affected population. In the remaining 5%, if left untreated, it either becomes cancer or cirrhosis. Mind you, treatment doesn't mean cure but control 4 Likes |

drakura:Most killings is as a result of treating another illness. Most hospitals don't even have equipment to carry out the test. So most people treat malaria in place of it, before they realize it is hep b, it is too late. |

You can go for LFT (Liver Function Test), HBV, HCV tests to know your status and the status of your liver. If left untreated, HBV can lead to hepatocelular carcinoma. I know at least 3 persons who have died of this. Be safe; avoid reckless lifestyles; go for tests; spread the message. 1 Like |
