The Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, on Monday broke down in tears when a delegation from the state visited President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.

The governor was moved to tears because of what he described as the recent setback in the fight against insurgency.

He, however, noted that the leaders had not lost hope in the President’s ability to win the war and restore peace in the state.

Amidst the tears, he told the President that the delegation came to present a set of observations and specific requests from a security meeting held a week ago in the state, which will require urgent presidential intervention.

Others present include the National security Adviser, Chief of Staff, the DG of DSS and NIA, Chief of Defense Staff and members of the National Assembly.

The meeting is still ongoing behind closed doors.

Stop talking like an ignoramus.

Insurgency has been on in Nigeria for 10 solid years and it has not gotten to the South East. Is that not long enough? These people deserve what is happening to them because GEJ through Ihejirika almost vanquished Boko Haram but they all cried foul and threatened taking both Jonathan and Ihejirika to the international court of justice for what they called "ethnic cleansing".

It will never be to the South East unless you are going to be instrumental in bringing it in yourself.

You are not seeing the big picture

The longer the insurgency, the more their people fleee to the South, especially the South East.

My village for example has a huge northern presence now, and it was not like that just 7 years ago.

The more they pour in, the more we have to accommodate them, and all.

we will.be having a refugee crisis in the south soon and you w illl see it.

In Lagos, they are everywhere; sleeping in street corners and all.

ALWAYS LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE when looking at these things

And no, those northern people being killed and sent out of their homes don t deserve all that.

It's like saying we deserved python dance because of some elements in the east

Which Boko Haram again. Didn't they defeat it technically since 2015 December. It will not be well with Buhari and Lie Mohammed.

now na morning.

they wanted their own armnesty like in the south, they have it.

they wanted north east abi na north west development commission like Niger delta development commission, they have it

they wanted the presidency returned to the north from the south, they have it. A retired army general for that matter, even though he is lifeless and brain dead.

why is he now crying.

the east that does not have any of the above and do not spend much time and energy fighting for it are at peace, developing slowly and steadily.

Get your PVC Nigerians and lets VOTE out APC. A Party full of lies, blame game, insecurity, shedding of innocent blood, poverty and jeopardizing the future of Nigeria and our unborn children.
We all know its only ATIKU/OBI (PDP) that can stand this corrupt APC that are willing to rig this 2019 election.

Lets VOTE ATIKU/OBI.
VOTE PDP.

Lets get Nigeria working.
God bless you all.

Nope, Imo state.

These people have largely fled the conflict /fulami herdsmen problem in the middle belt/North East

If the crisis gets worse, more and more will pour in.

So we need to solve this problem fast

Now you are talking!

Let me tell you something, I was born in the North and lived most of my life there. I know how the average Northerner thinks. The mass immigration to Imo state and there large presence there is not because of the conflict in the NE. Ask yourself this question, why didn't they relocate to nearby states that have little or no incidences of insurgency like Sokoto, Gombe, Katsina, Jigawa, Bauchi etc but decided to move all the way to Imo? Secondly, why didn't they choose other states in the SE like Anambra (where i come from), Enugu, and Abia their relocation points? It is political.

Let me expatiate...

Your governor Rochas is a dunce (sorry to say) because he wanted to score cheap political points with the North in order to please them in preparation for his future political ambition. When he decamped to APC which is a majority Northern party, he took so many decisions to show a display of solidarity as it was rumored that he had a presidential ambition which he felt that if he played to their galley, they would hand that seat over to him in a platter of gold. He forgot or maybe was oblivious of the fact that no matter how well you speak Hausa, no matter how much you interact with the Northerners, it doesn't matter if you married their daughters or you even convert to Islam, the only thing that disqualifies you from being in the forefront of politics when it comes to Aso Rock is BEING IGBO!

History has it that Ahmadu Bello once said that "Whenever you allow an Igbo man whether freeborn or slave to come and serve in a house, all it takes is time and he will eventually become a lord over that house, so the only thing one should do is never allow an Igbo man come into the house in the first place."

The house which Bello talked about may mean so many things and power which the Northerners don't joke with is one of them!

About 4 years ago or there about, the Anambra State Government in order to stem what it felt as an impending security threat in Anambra promulgated a scheme where Northerners living in Anambra should be tagged with something like an ID which would make it easy to identify them and prevent any form of unrest just incase. The Northern Oligarch kicked vehemently against it and termed it as prejudice and the Anambra State Government had to withdraw that intention.

Rochas in a reactionary move just after that and in a bid to be "smart" and outstanding promulgated a law which allows Northerners to come into Imo State and love freely wherever they want, graze their cattle anywhere they deemed fit and even gave a very large expanse of land in Hectares to the Northerners in Imo State.

He was applauded by the Northern Oligarchs and was given various titles indifferent Northern States such as Turaki Sokoto etc. He was even turbaned in some special occasions to honor him.
To him, this was a very good sign and a straight well paved road which would lead to his political ambitions or so he thought but take a look at what is happening today between him and the chieftains of the APC. He wanted to impose his brother-in-law as gubernatorial candidate but unfortunately, he has been checkmated by Oshiomhole. It was said that he ran to Aso Rock to see Buhari on account of what Oshiomhole was doing to him but Buhari calmly told him to obey the party's directives because he (Buhari) does not want to interfere. Laughable! Why didn't the same Northern friends of Rochas who turbaned him and call the shots in APC come to his aid? Simple answer...because they were the ones who decided to cut his political wings! They were only using Oshiomhole as a front man!! They felt that if his brother-in-law becomes the governor, they won't have more access to the resources of Imo State so they decided that it was better to put in someone who would be directly loyal to them rather than Rochas in the name of Hope Uzodinma. Can you see how he lost out?

And why I made mention of Ebonyi, we all know how the governor there is Buhari's boy-boy...very soon, he will learn his own lesson!

So stop thinking that the hausas you see in Imo are there because of NE's insurgence...Rochas gave them a free visa of stay!
