If you have been following the tech space for a while now, then you must have noticed that Google Assistant has slowly been creeping its way into various Google apps and services. However, one service that has eluded the digital assistant is the company’s navigation service. The company did announce last year that its mapping application would be getting support from Google Assistant, but it seems to have taken a bit longer than expected.

Well, it is better late than never, right? For Google Maps users who are looking forward to integration with the digital assistant, you’ll be pleased to learn that the integration is rolling out to users as we speak. This will be available on both iOS and Android devices, although it appears that the Android version of the application will be richer in features due to the fact that Google also develops Android and the limitations that surround the iOS platform.

However, for the most part, the integration with Google Maps means that users can now control navigation using their voice, respond to text messages with auto-punctuation being one of the features and control music. The rollout is currently in progress and if you don’t see it enabled for you yet, not to worry as it should eventually find its way to you.
