Which one is 'unlawful gathering' again? Is freedom of association no longer allowed in Nigeria's Constitution? Unlawful gathering together to eat Indomie? Is the Nigerian Police the most unserious in the world or what?

Nigerian Police lipsrsealed

I am not surprised, we get what we give to the public. Take a look at an average Nigerian youth, what do you see? Imagine when such is eventually given out for public service, what do you expect to get?

Well, according to the Police relation officer the arrest wasn't to do with his hairstyle rather unlawful gathering in the possession of Indian Hemp?

Police with thier unlawful arrest
Magichand:
Yinka Badmus, a 24-year-old photojournalist with Talk Village International, has been arrested and remanded in Ikoyi Prison, over his dreadlocks, which some policemen felt made him look like a cultist.

Badmus, who had just bagged a scholarship, was arrested for committing no crime by policemen attached to the Lagos State Police Command Anti-Cultism Unit.

His boss, Stephen Oguntoyinbo, said he received disturbing phone calls from prison warders, urging him to ensure Badmus, who is now critically ill, was granted bail and taken to hospital to ensure he did not die.

He explained that Badmus was arrested on December 31, 2018, while eating noodles at Pedro Bus Stop, Gbagada, where he lives. It was learnt that after he was detained, the policemen refused to allow him to contact anyone.

While he was in detention, trying to convince the policemen that he was not a cultist, friends and family had become frantic with worry, searching for him. Badmus’ whereabouts was eventually known after a detainee, who was granted bail, contacted one of Badmus’ relatives.

He had already spent three days in police detention, contravening the stipulated instruction that every suspect must be charged within 24 hours. Oguntoyinbo said: “After days in detention, Yinka was able to send a message to a close relative on January 3.

He was found at the station. The information given by the police was that he was arrested because of his hairstyle. I was asked to come to Gbagada Police Station on January 4, to bail him and see the officer in charge of his case.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Chike Oti, confirmed Badmus’ arrest. “Badmus was arrested along with others for unlawful gathering. They were arrested with a bag of Indian hemp,” he said.

Making dreadlocks is different from having it like that from birth.
The one you make artificially is wooly hair. It is rather neat.
The one that comes from birth is something else. That is dreadlocks. It is never neat. That is type you see on the head of mad people. Dirty.

The police can arrret you for looking like a criminal? What is an unlawful gathering and why did it take 3 days to charge him.

If you have dreads in this country, the best thing for you to do is to be covering it when hanging out late in the night or better just avoid hanging out late at night.

It's not because of only dreadlocks? There are other reasons behind that.

E be like say Lagos police never do you strong thing before. They arrest based on their insinuations. Two years ago i was tagged a cultist because of my beards. I was manhandled that day.
My friend had to pay 12k on Christmas Eve just because he is handsome, well dressed and fair in complexion because they believed he is a Yahoo boy.

He actually thought it was a joke until they drove him to the station then he started begging, so they had to take him to an ATM to withdraw.

If you live in Lagos, you can even be arrested for breathing.

Bag of weed or no bag of weed

He was actually arrested because of his hair looks

Guys, pls look clean with a good head cut

The police are looking for any excuse to put anyone behind bars just because our youths prefers to chase fashion and look rather than engaging themselves with useful jobs

As far as Nigeria is concerned, every youth is a suspect

The most surprising part of this story is not what the police did as the police are a force of demons. The judge who is expected to be on the side of good remanded this man in prison..this is very very strange and wicked
