The president of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday,
January 15, reportedly snubbed the retiring Inspector General of
Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, at the Abuja venue of the celebration
of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
There has been an ongoing rift between Idris and Saraki.
Vanguard reports that the venue, Saraki refused to accept
handshake extended to him by Idris at the event held at the
National Archade, Abuja.
The report said Idris, who was standing near a podium, had
saluted the Saraki ahead of a handshake as has been the
practice.
However, Saraki refused to walk towards Idris to accept the
handshake from him.
He, instead, steadily looked at Idris and walked away to shake
the service chiefs who were standing together with the IGP. |
