This is the situation in AAUA.
The management issued a circular that returning students are to pay what they paid last session in this new session.
To the management, this is not an increment, but logically and technically, this is an increment.

There are three categories of fees regime last session.
The New Students paid the minimum of 150k, the final years students paid 70k and other categories of students paid the minimum of 100k, all depends on faculty.

Now, if the management want the students to maintain status quo of what they paid last year, and not what each level paid last year, this is an increment.

To break it down
A 200Level student in this session will pay 150k, the amount he/she paid last year, instead of 100k paid by those in 200Level last session.
Also, a final year student, who paid 100k last year in 300/400Level will still pay 100k in final year this session instead of the 70k paid by the final year students last session.
Now, a new student will pay the minimum of 200k depending on faculty instead of the 150k paid by those in 100Level last session.

Now, isn't this an increment? The answer is Yes.

Unfortunately, many of these students have not paid the school fees of last year. They are still appealing to the management to open the portal to enable them pay.
Am of the firm view that the school management maintain the status quo of what was paid at different level last session, for this season, not what the students paid last session for this season. The increment of last session was huge enough, the impact on the students and parents are of no small measure to warrant any technical increase this session.
