I think this coming elections is atiku's best chance to get to that seat he's been craving for since he was vice president. The seat is buhari's to lose cos his arrogance even in the face of obvious incompetency is alarming even to his ardent supporters but his backers are banking on the usual rigging tactics but what they are forgetting is that atiku has always been a well grounded politician with firm political structures(pdm) since the early 90s,he was also part and parcel of apc when they were preparing for elections in 2015 and he's privy to all the underhand dealings that took place.A few reasons why I believe it's atiku's time

1.He's a northern muslim just like buhari so in places where buhari used to enjoy bloc votes based on such sentiments,it will have to be split

2. the farmers/herders clashes in north central will mean apc can't get the number of votes it got in 2015

3. Even the masses that buhari is counting on have all felt the brunt of the recession which was fast tracked by the incompetence of this administration which caused hardship leaving a tattered economy in its wake requiring cosmetic approaches like tradermoni to calm frayed nerves but it came a little too late and memories of a better life they lived under pdp will divide votes between buhari and atiku

3. atiku's pdp can match buhari's apc intended rigging plans cos he's been a member of the other side and privy to how they did it so plans to neutralize such is in place

4.buhari's divisive leadership has created ammunition for the atiku side to use to discredit it cos more people are coming to the reality that buhari is not and cannot be the much talked about messiah to lift Nigeria from its myriads of problems.

5.buhari's lack of understanding of the economy and its dynamics and his inability to source for the right people to fill positions regardless of their affiliations is one low point of his administration which the atiku can exploit cos atiku looks better acquainted with business and a people's person unlike a recluse like buhari whose circle of friends is very small and not that exposed.

6.buhari's government is clearly failing everyday in its primary responsibility of securing the country, his antecedents as a military officer hasn't counted much cos he's been demystified, atiku seems to be the kind of person that will go to whatever length to have some resemblance of peace in other to able to govern unlike this needless arrogance been shown by buhari's government concerning getting help from our neighbors.

7. though not exhaustive but I'll stop here by saying that just like in 2015,nigerians want change and have tasted buhari's brand of it which they find unpalatable, that is an advantage for atiku to ride on to seize power off the feet of the incumbent. I see a repeat of 2015 cos pride goes before a fall
