Faithia Williams Balogun

Faithia Balogun (born February 5) is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, producer and director.

She was born in Ikeja on February 1969. Her ancestry is from Okpara, Delta State.She attended Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Lagos state, where she obtained the West African School Certificate before she proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic where she received a diploma certificate.

She has starred, produced and directed several Nigerian films over the years. In 2008, she won the Africa movie Academy Award for the Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous and her movie Iranse Aje won the best indigenous film of the year.In April 2014, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award, having emerged as best actress of the year along with Odunlade Adekola who emerged as best actor of the year.Faithia Balogun also won the Best Indigenous Language: Yoruba award for the work done in the film Iya Alalake at the 2015 Africa-Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards AMVCA.

So by February 5, Fathia will be 50 years old. she is old to be grandma. Happy birthday to you in advance.

I respect her and her works.



However, i want the upcoming yoruba actresses to take the initiative and increase the level.


Can any Nollywood actress feature in a power-packed, action, blockbuster movie atall?


Can they feature in a movie that just their flexibility can get them $1million?


Can they, just cos of speaking five languages, get called up for a bit part role and make the equivalent of 100times the home videos they do, in just a 5mins cameo?

Are they ready to de-emphasize on their boobs, etc and get roles that would just make Nigerians to know they can't but hail such an actress?

Are they ready to stay fit, hale and hearty, so they can get prepared physically and mentally for roles that will make Nigerian Directors to start thinking more than the sex/role virus?


That's how one was rumored to be part of the doro milaje of Black Panther. We later heard she was dropped. Carpet Sweeping!! If you noticed, she started to keep fit ever since then.


And the other one that Netflix just gave bragging rights recently, but was turned down for the biggest role any african actress can dream of, a feature in a James Bond movie.... she's too good but i began to doubt her vastness of expression with regard to what a director wants after that.....


Make dem wake up. Time to start getting these roles that even if its 5mins, na money already o.


16movies in 365days and peanuts can't even compare to what that 5mins on an international movie worthy of grabbing an oscar or emmy, can do.
