Recommended Engine Oil For M52 Engine Of BMW E36 by Nobody: 1:33pm On Jan 23, 2019
Hello,
For a while now, I been noticing that my engine makes a loud noise and doesnot move well in gear 1,2. I thought it was the leather clutch and after changing it, the engine still behave the same. I asked a Mechanic who told me to service it again. The last time I serviced it was 1st week of September. Some people recommended Mobil 1, some Total but I want to know the right engine oil to use.

Thanks.

Do you hear a kpom kpom sound when it moves from gear 1, then also when you open the bonnet at idle do you also hear kpa kpa kpa sound, listen well and revert?

Not at all. but it doesnt move the way it used to unless I am on speed. But to get to that level when the engine will be very relax even at low speed, I will be on gear 3

Is the car manual or auto?

What oil brand and name did you use to service b4?

not necessarily servicing, but that sea horse would have degraded change oil and let another mechanic give you a working diagnosis. my guess is the engine is weak

I am curious to see the M52 engine on your E36? I am aware that E36 do carry M40/M42 engines but never knew that it carries M52 as well.

A picture of the engine bay will do.

Thank you

Hello and compliment of the season to you
Pls, I am perceiving a ticking sound inside my engine which is not a knocking sound. The sound is rhythmic in nature. What could it be?
