The women from all ethnicity across Ojo Local Government Area on Friday made a date with destiny ahead of the general elections scheduled for February 16th & March 2nd respectively.

The women who were guests of the wives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ojo Federal constituency, trooped out in their numbers to discuss about the matters that affects the constituency, the state and the nation at large.

Speaking on behalf of other wives of the APC candidates (Mrs. Laide Akande, Alhaja Fausilat Tijani; the wives of the APC candidate for Lagos State House of Assembly for Ojo constituency I & II respectively), the wife of the APC candidate for Ojo Federal Constituency, *Mrs. Muslimah Olajumoke Durosinmi*, appreciated the supports of the women across the constituency for choosing their husbands as the APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections. Durosinmi calls for a more cohesive relationship among the women, promising that every programmes that concerns the women will be personally handled by the wives of the candidates, to ensure that all the women in the Federal Constituency are well informed as well as in reaping the dividends of governance.

Counting the gains of the women, girls and youths between 2008 to 2014 when her husband served as the council chairman of Ojo, Durosinmi said: "every girl child deserve to be educated, during the reign of husband as the council chairman, we were able to pull more girls out of the street and register them in various schools with full scholarship, school bags, sandals and other academic gadgets were also provided through the MOD girls club. The old aged and widows also got regular monthly stipends for many years as well as empowerment for the women, this programmes will regain its momentum as soon as our husbands are voted for the House of representatives in Ojo on February 16th and the state House of Assembly in Ojo constituency I & II come March 2nd, 2019" she commented.

Mrs. Durosinmi, enjoined the women to canvass the populace to vote for all the APC candidates from the President to the state House of Assembly members.


Addressing the women on the necessary steps to taken ahead of the general elections, the Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Rausulu Idowu, appealed to the women to get their voters card which many of it are still at the INEC office. Idowu, while counting the gains of the APC led government said Nigeria can only get better if all the APC candidates are elected to continue the aggressive infrastructural development every state in Nigeria are presently witnessing.

Full of excitement, the Co-Host of the event, Mrs. Bolanle Idowu, the wife of the council chairman of Ojo, assures of collaborating with the wives of the elected officials to step up the women inclusiveness and empowerment.

Responding to the charges, the women leaders of the APC, Arewa, Igbo and the south - south, assured of mobilising massively to vote for all the APC candidates.

In his closing remarks, Alhaji Alade Semilu appreciate the women for turning up in their numbers to honour the event.


Also present was the wife of the Director- General of YMD - ICG, Mrs. Makinde.

The event have in attendance, the APC leader, Prince Tejumade Durosinmi, the APC women leaders of Ojo, Iba, Oto - Awori LGA respectively, the Igbo, south - south and Arewa women and well as the host Yoruba community.
