To be candid, the judiciary deserves Buhari's and politicians rough-handling. They lingered too long in knowing that they are co-equal with the legislative/executive arm of government. They allowed the elements in the other two arms (legislative/executive) to control them. After all they are the best bidders via our collective/cumulative taxes & revenue!!!
Our prisons are grossly overpopulated with citizens that can't afford the services of legal expert and those with technical judgement but our SANs will throng court rooms in hundreds if the case is between elements in executives/legislatives vs The Helpless Nigerians!!!. Can SAN Ozehkome, Sagay, Olanipeku, Ngige, Usoro, Rotimi, Keyamo, Gambari, Agbakobah etc make case or defense for the average Nigerian Nurse, Doctor, Farmer, Barber, Market woman, transporter, hawker, Pharmacist, bricklayer and the poorest of the poor among us?
Had the Judiciary lived up to his expectations, the likes of Ameachi, Saraki, Nwaoboshi, Tinubu, Obasanjo, Atiku, Obanikoro, Igbinedion etc won't be in government let alone be the economic deciders of our commonwealth!!!
Let the CJN/NBA/Judiciary enjoy the music of their endless anticipatory adjournments, conflicting rulings from courts of same jurisdiction, protracted hearings, despicable exparte motions, abrupt leave, absenteeism, .... that have become the sine qua non & sine die of our judiciary system.
Either the CJN is reinstated or not, President Buhari's singular action on the CJN will certainly wake our friends on silk to rejig the judiciary system for the good of all, accessibility irrespective of your case, class, cord or caste alignment and tame the endemic commercialization of justice in the sector.
This is necessary because they are not even safe in their court rooms (Dino vs FG; Fayose vs Ekiti judges as a case study) while the executive/legislative politicians' will hunt them down when the chips are down to protect their common interest!!!.
JUDICIARY SHOULD WAKE UP BEFORE THIS NATION PERISH.
