One of the problem with the global flood hypothesis is that , it doesn't fit with what we know about the laws of physics.

We know that if a global flood as described by the creationist happens then we should find layers of the earth's crust to be arranged by their densities as they settle down in the flood waters.

We wouldn't expect to find a soil layer of higher denser above a soil layer of lower density. But in reality we sometimes see geological columns of heavier densities above those of lighter density. If a global flood happened then that would not be the case.
