Ojukwu was never given a state burial, Military buried him because he was one of them. Awolowo and Ekweme were given state burial because of their significance to the nation. Military burial is different from State burial.

A military funeral is a memorial or burial rite given by a country's military for a soldier, sailor, marine or airman who died in battle, a veteran, or other prominent military figures or heads of state.
A military funeral may feature guards of honor, the firing of volley shots as a salute, drumming and other military elements, with a flag draping over the coffin.

WHILE

A state funeral is a public funeral ceremony, observing the strict rules of protocol, held to honour people of national significance. State funerals usually include much pomp and ceremony as well as religious overtones and distinctive elements of military tradition. Generally, state funerals are held in order to involve the general public in a national day of mourning after the family of the deceased gives consent. A state funeral will often generate mass publicity from both national and global media outlets.

So you woke up this morning to think of rubbish? You can never be better than the Igbo race, no matter how hard you try. Begin to deal with it! It s on record that Ojukwu was given a state burial with the full complements of the Federal government. The federal government also promoted him to general from colonel he was before the civil war in the Nigerian Army. It was a full colourful state burial having also in attendance, the president, the vice president and all the apparatus of the Nigerian State. A leave of office was observed by all public workers on that day. He was flown in with the presidential jet and to his final resting place with the state helicopter. His coffin was covered with the Nigerian flag and he received a salute from the President of Nigeria before he was lowered to rest. That is a typical example of a state burial

[/s]Which record. Bring the record out. Use your brain, don not confuse yourself. Ojukwu never recieved state burial. so cos president and vice president were present translate it to state burial right. So if buratai dies today and president and vice president attend, it means a state burial. You well so?

Which leave of office, you mean leave of office in all eastern states declared by the eastern governors and not by fg. Because there was nor holiday here in west and north. fg did no declare pulic holiday for him ulike the did for Awolowo, ekweme and shagari. So which leave are you talking about?

I will not reply you again after this. You were probably still in secondary school or primary school in 2012 when the burial took place. Since you probably did not have the pleasure of seeing the burial, let me not join issues with you. Have a nice day

Let's see if the Airforce will give Badeh (A four star General) a military burial.

FYI, Military burials are given to those who died in active duty and may be extended to officers who attained the rank of General on retirement and served distinguishably in the war front

Did Ojukwu meet any of these criterias? So why should the Army honor a "renegade" officer?

Borrow sense afonja.

Benjamin Adekunle got a military burial because he attained the rank of Brigadier General and was credited to have contributed to much to the advantage of the Nigerian forces during the Civil war.

Ojukwu on the other hand got state burial and not a military burial.

Ojukwu did not attain the rank of a General in the Nigerian Army and he also never retired from said institution, so why should the Army give him a Burial?

So you think any korofo is entitled to military burial?

Only staff officers who had a distinguishable record get state burial.

Was Idiagbon given a military burial?

See another goal post shifting. Maybe you should read what was written above very well. What is his importance to the nation?
